Yes. BYOP format tournaments are best shot doubles. Each player throws a tee shot and chooses which lie they want to throw their 2nd shot from; then both players throw from there. This process continues until the hole is finished.

If I may chime in, best shot doubles implies that you must take the best shot. Just wanted to clear up that you may also elect to throw from the worst shot as well, but not in addition to. Basically the rules are biased towards competitive try-hards that aim to win. This is not the communal motivator for everyone that plays organized disc golf, so feel free to push your limits and challenge yourself to not always take the "better shot". Personally, on occasion, I'll take my partners inferior lie to build moral for confidence gains that could lead to strokes gained later on. I wouldn't overthink it though. ????
