Update on Gorge!

Hole 13: I want to start by apologizing for the confusion. This mistake is totally on me as a TD.

It was originally intended to have two mandos on this hole. I painted these along with a drop zone. However, in the live scoring general rules along with my speech before each card teed off I stated that the live scoring is the official rule.

It has come to light that the mando rules did not get saved into live scoring. So that means that they were not in play yesterday.

To remedy this mistake I have decided to remove the mandos on 13 and continue with the current rules. Instead of changing the hole mid event. However, the reason these were meant to be in play is for safety so please be mindful of the players on hole 14 if you take the big Hyzer line.

I sincerely apologize for any confusion yesterday. Like I said it’s on me as a TD. I believe this is the best solution moving forward.

This is your Tournament Director @Callie McMorran . I would like to say thank you for participating in The Blue Ridge Championship! I would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone coming out and supporting North Cove Leisure Club. In this email you will find the written course layout, for this event, link to your tee times, link to live scoring and more. My personal phone number is listed at the bottom of this email.



Tee Times: All tee times are posted and being adjusted as new players are still signing up. Please check again your tee time with this link to make sure yours has not changed.

Player check-in:

All players need to check-in at the Grit Discs tent if they haven’t already for player packs. Pros get a small item at check-in also.

With this event being an A-tier all players are required to be at hole 1 five minutes prior to their tee-time for there is a penalty.



Dress code:

This event is an A-tier and requires athletic material shirts to participate. Please refer to the PDGA rules for further info.



Live Scoring:

Here is the link to the live scoring website. On every card ALL players will be required to keep score through this website or app. Yes, I said (ALL). The PDGA has just changed the website/app so that it allows ALL players to keep score at the same time. This allows the website to check for errors as you play your round. You will be able to link up to my hot spot at Gorge and Vince’s hot spot at boulders to start your round. Paper score cards are available.

Check-in before round 1 at the Grit Discs booth.
Depending on weather, this is either out front of the North Cove Pro Shop or in the back of the building inside the bar. (This is if you haven’t checked in yet.)
If you have checked in please be at your starting hole 5 mins before your tee-time.

Round 1 of competition.

6:00pm - 9:00pm
Corn hole tournament and Karaoke at Birdies Bar and Grill is open to everyone. Arcade Game Tournaments!

Round 2 of competition

6:00pm - 9:05pm
Fly mart! There will be alcohol and pizza for sale on site all night long!

Live music!

Poker night will be held in the bar! $20 min buy in with $50 max. This will get paid out in merchandise. We have custom table topper and poker chips. Hope y’all can make it out!



Grit Discs will be setup throughout the week for all of your disc golf needs.

Birdies Bar and Grill will be open for food and beverage throughout the weekend.

When arriving to North Cove please note that the main bridge is still gone. There is a new bridge on the left side of the Inn at the entrance. This bridge is only wide enough for one way traffic so please pay attention when crossing. If you’re driving anything really large such as a trailer you will need to park at the entrance and walk in. Once you cross the bridge follow the gravel road in. It will split right and left if you have low clearance on your car I suggest going to the right it’s not as steep. Apple Maps is up to date with satellite imaging if you’d like to take a look at this. There are pull offs throughout the gravel road to let people by. Please just be patient and courteous.
