Hi there, strange question... there are a few of us that are thinking of boating over for the am day. but we're just not sure of the best way to commute from the harbour to the golf club. Are cabs pretty easy to get / organize? There will be potentially 4-6 of us and it would be so disappointing to have miss registration (i've been left high and dry by cabs many times). I have a couple other questions - is there an email that's best to reach out to?

Been trying to make this work, but unfortunately cant now that the AM day is on Sunday. I see both perspectives from the commenters bellow, so let me add my two cents. I think this would have gone over much better if we had known from the beginning that it was two days. I love the idea of two day events so more people can play.

Please continue running events, I hope to make it to a Salt Spring event soon, just disappointed it cant be this one.

Dear Tournament Organizers,

I would like to express my thoughts on the decision to make the SSI tournament format to a two-day event. In my opinion, this move is an excellent step forward for the future of our tournaments. I hope to see more and more events adopt this structure, especially those that fill up quickly upon registration. Opening up tournaments to a two-day format allows more players to participate, which benefits the entire disc golf community.

Now, I understand that not everyone may be thrilled with this change. Donovan, for instance, has already booked accommodations based on the previous schedule. However, I believe there are still viable options for him. Despite the inconvenience, Donovan can choose to play in the tournament. The ferry schedule aligns well with the event, even if it means he’ll get home late. Additionally, taking Monday off work could be a solution for him.

By splitting the tournament into Pro/MA1 on Saturday and Am on Sunday, we effectively double the number of players who can participate. Considering how quickly Saltspring tournaments fill up, accommodating more players is essential. While some may opt out due to late-night travel on Sunday, I believe this group will be a minority compared to those who missed out entirely when the tournament filled up instantly.

In my last most recent experience, playing a Saltspring tournament it reached capacity within a day of opening registration. Many players expressed their desire to participate but couldn’t due to limited space. Encouraging two-day events ensures that more people can enjoy the competition. Given that both the Advanced and Pro divisions filled up in a single day, this change was necessary to accommodate the growing interest.

Extremely upset to see this all the sudden turn to a 2 day event after booking an air B&B and planning for Saturday, especially considering its impossible to do a 1 day from the mainland to get there on time and also to come home there's no ferry on Sunday after 3pm, love to know why all the sudden its 2 seperate days
