Hi Donavan and Mark, I am sorry that the sudden change to a 2-day event has screwed with your plans; I was always planning to have it be a 2-Day event. The Saturday that was on DGS was just a placeholder for an event that would be updated. I presume you planned to come over on Friday, play on Saturday, and leave Sunday. The only time for the Long Harbour boat is 3:30PM, so it wouldn’t be possible to catch that 3:30PM boat on Saturday either. I can feel the annoyance of not being able to take a direct boat home after the round. There are two options for getting home. I am planning to start the 1st round by 8:45AM, which would allow for someone coming from the Mainland to either: 1) drive to Fulford, ferry to Swartz Bay, turn around and head back to Tsawwassen. One would then catch the 9PM from Swartz and be at Tsawwassen by 10:35. 2) drive to Vesuvius, take the boat to Crofton and drive to Departure Bay (50 Min). Then they would catch the 8:45 from Nanaimo (DB) and be in Horseshoe bay for 10:45PM. That’s the only way to get home the same day, and unless you could stay til Monday, this is how one would have to do it. I think Ben has addressed the issue with this one. I don't have a problem with two day tournaments, or playing on a Sunday. The issue was that it was changed on the registration page a day or two before it opened. If like Ben has said that there is a way to get back to the mainland on the Sunday after the tournament, we may still come. Maybe next year there will be consistency with divisions and dates in the Duck Golf Series and the issue of last minute changes (other than weather delays) will be avoided.
