Thank you for joining us for the first PDGA sanctioned disc golf tournament at Delt Church Park. The disc golf course has made major updates to the layout and added new baskets and tee pads in the past few years. Tex Farrell and I are teaming up to bring competitive disc golf to this underserved area.
The Tex Flex is a true amateur event, consisting of one 18-hole round of disc golf singles play. This PDGA C-Tier event will use a flex start. All registered competitors will play one official round on the day of the event.

The park opens at dawn. Use the main entrance. Please park in designated spaces. Do not park along the road or any spaces reserved for horses and buggies. Thank you.
CHECK-IN
Check-in at tournament central which will be at the new pavilion across from hole 1. Check in begins at 11:00 a.m. All players MUST check in at tournament central which will be located at Stable Shelter. You do not need to check in until you are ready to play your official round, whatever time that may be. Amateurs will pick up their player pack item at check-in.
CONTESTS
We will have putting, accuracy and distance contests for you to try before or after your disc golf round. You do not need to play in the tournament to participate in the contests. Contest details and rules are available in the "comments" section of event page at disc golf scene or by following this link:
https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Delt_Church_Challenge_2025/comments
FLY MART AND TRADING POST
Bring your discs and disc golf merchandise to sell or trade. You may set up before, during or after your round beginning at 11 a.m. Your space must be cleaned up no later than 7:30 p.m. Limited vendor spaces are available for $15 (plus two new premium discs).
CASUAL PLAY
The course will be open for casual (non-tournament rounds) play for those who choose not to enter the official event. Cards may not mix tournament and casual players during an official scoring round.
GROUPS
You may form your own groups to play your official round. Groups must consist of at least three players but no more than four players. Fivesomeones are permitted in special situations. If you need to play in a group of five you must first get approval from the tournament director. If you do not have a group, we will help you find one. Simply mention you need to be included in a group when you check in at tournament central. If you are forming your own group you may mix players from different divisions.
LAYOUT AND PLAY
We will play one round of 18 holes. Play may begin at 12 p.m. All official rounds must be completed and finalized by 7:45 p.m. The last cards out will be at 5:30 p.m.
OUT OF BOUNDS
A disc must be completely surrounded by OB to be out of bounds. If any part of a disc is in bounds, the disc is in bounds and no penalty is assessed. If your disc is within one meter of the out of bounds line you may move the disc away from the OB line up to one meter in any direction toward the basket without penalty. You may not play from out of bounds.
If you are unsure of a ruling you may declare a provisional throw and play the hole out from your lie as in bounds and out of bounds. You may take a picture of your lie to aid in describing your situation to the TD before he makes a ruling. Do not finalize your scorecards if you need a ruling on a lie until after the TD has ruled. Here is the hole-by-hole breakdown:
You may take greater casual relief from any standing water or large brush piles/downed trees. In line with the basket. No closer to the hole.
You have three minutes to look for a lost disc. Everyone in the group must help search for a lost disc. After three minutes, if the disc is not found, you must continue play and may retrieve your disc following the completion of your round.

https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf.
SCORING
All players must keep score. We will be using the PDGA live scoring app. The app is available for Android and Apple iOS. If you do not have a cell phone, you may use a paper scorecard available at tournament central. The access code for scoring is: texflex
There is also a UDisc layout for the event.
SAFETY
This is a public park. It is possible that you will encounter spectators as well as other community members using the park during the event. This is a short course with many holes close to others. Please be mindful of your surroundings and use caution when throwing. Never throw over, at or near another person. Keep an eye out for other disc golfers as well. Be kind and patient.
SIDE GAMES (ACE POT & 50/50 CTP)
All aces will split. The 50/50 CTP will be awarded to the player whose disc lands closest to the basket on hole #1. If a player aces the CTP hole they will win the CTP and split the ace pool with any other aces on the day.
WATER & RESTROOMS
Bottled water will be available at tournament central and by holes 8. Please help yourself. Restrooms are located by tournament central.
