Tex Flex Putting, Accuracy and Distance Contests
General Information
All contests will offer three divisions: Expert, Amateur and Novice. Choose the one most closely related to your tournament level. You must enter all contests in the same division.
Contests will be open from noon until 7 p.m.
You may enter a contest more than once, but only one score will stand in each event.
A park staff member, event volunteer, or another contestant must be present for each attempt.
You may use your own discs or ones will be provided.
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division for each contest.
Putting Contest
Layout: Three baskets at three different distances: 15, 25 and 35 feet
Format: Each contestant attempts five throws from each distance.
Scoring: Score is based on the total number of made putts out of 15.
Tiebreaker: Total number of putts made from 35 feet. If still tied, players will have a sudden death putt-off from 35 feet.
Accuracy Contest
Layout: Three circles at three different distances: 100, 150 and 200 feet.
Format: Each contestant will have nine total throws at the targets.Contestants may throw any number of discs at any target area until all nine discs have been thrown.
Scoring: Score is based on the total number of points scored on a 3-2-1 system: three points for a disc in the 200-foot circle, two points for a disc in the 150-foot circle and one point for each disc in the 100-foot circle.
Tiebreaker: total number of points scored on the 200-foot target. If still tied, players will have a one disc CTP to the 100 target.
Distance Contest
Layout: Tee from established mark. Distances marked by stakes at 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 as a visual aid. Range finder used to establish official distance.
Format: Each contestant will have three throws.
Scoring: Contestants will choose one throw of the three to represent their entry. Longest distance wins.
Tiebreaker: One disc throw-off.
