Hey! Do you think there will be any movement on the waitlist? When is the last possible day that we will know if we made it in or not?

Ezra! You can have my spot. I broke my foot on the teepad R1 today and can no longer make it. Backing out now.

I hope you have a speedy recovery and can get back out on the course soon!

Just a friendly reminder that the disc golf course at Idlewild Park will be closed from Monday 8/3 through Monday 8/10 to "Public Play" for the Idlewild Open.

At each DGPT event, we hold 4 sponsor exemption spots. Those spots for Idlewild have been determined and those players (Garrett Gurthie, Jeremy Koling, Philo Brathwaite, and Nikko Locastro) will he added to the reg list. There will also be $1000 extra added to the purse for these sponsor exemptions.

Are spectators going to be allowed at this year‘s event?

Hi Mike - Unfortunately, no. We are in Phase 1 of the DGPT COVID-19 policy, which means no spectators or caddies.

Do you have any type of clinic schedule from the Pro Players?

No Clinic plans as of now, we are working on a possible limited access meet and greet, will post that once we figure it all out.

Hoping to figure out accommodations soon; trying to decide between camping and cheap hotel. Any campsites nearby with a shower facility?

Arn't any in the park, a few other parks that offer primitive camping, cabins and shower access, some nearby in Indinana, Big Bone Lick should be open, uncertain on restrictions though https://parks.ky.gov/union/parks/historic/big-bone-lick-state-historic-site

Any update on spectators? Ledgestone announced they’ll have spectators so I’m just trying to decide which tournament to go to. I’m halfway between both places lol

As of right now we are not 100% sure. We will be speaking with local government and the DGPT about moving the Idlewild Open to Phase 2 as Kentucky just opened the state to Phase 3 of the states plan today. That plan allows gatherings of 50 people or fewer so we should be able to have spectators at a limitation.

Will spectators be allowed to watch final round mpo?

We will not know the exact answer to that until about 2 weeks before the event. Keep your eyes open

No AM event this year?

Current plan is to host Amateur event the following weekend, should be creating page and registration for that soon.
Adam M. Jones March 19 at 4:02pm
Registration Update: After discussions with DGPT management, we decided it would be best to push back registration dates for a month to not interfere with players financial responsibility at this time.

What is the closest tent camp site to the tournament?

Primitive camping will possibly be allowed again in the Park as offered in previous years. Those details will be worked out soon and posted once finalized with Park management. As well as other camping and hotel accomodations. .
Spectators are prohibited at the event. However, there are opportunities to volunteer as a spotter, water station attendant, or security so you can be at the event.
Do you have to volunteer the whole weekend or just a specific day? Im playing a local tournament on Sunday.
I would love to volunteer either friday or Saturday or both.
There are several volunteer positions which have different time requirements, and you can choose which days : http://www.theidlewildopen.com/volunteer.html
