Eric and staff, congrats on a job very well done. You had a nice players pack, lunch provided, deep payouts, and still made your club money. If everyone could pull that off like you have done there would be a lot less complaining out there....maybe a little less...but regardless Well done. I had a great time on my first official tournament since the arm injury and even though we got drenched at the end the weather wasn't half bad. Thanks to everyone for all their hard work in running this years Cleveland Rock. See you next year.

Well, another CLE Rock is over and the results were our largest field ever at Sims. Not the largest, there was a Roc back in the '08 that had 137 players on two courses. The rain held until the very end and the day proved fun. In the spirit of transparency, I felt it might help to hear where your money went, after all, unless you are in Open and see that cash come flowing back to you, it might be a mystery. Well, another CLE Rock is over and the results were our largest field ever at Sims. Not the largest, there was a Roc back in the '08 that had 137 players on two courses. The rain held until the very end and the day proved fun. In the spirit of transparency, I felt it might help to hear where your money went, after all, unless you are in Open and see that cash come flowing back to you, it might be a mystery. Well, here goes:

AMS - All divisions paid $40. Of that, the PDGA gets $3 (B tier), $2 went to overhead costs, $1 towards lunch and $14 to cover the cost of the players pack. The rest of the $20 was put into the division payouts, generated using the PDGA's TD program. AM 1 and Adv Masters had a 45% of the field payout. The remaining divisions had 50% of the field paid out.

Pros - Paid $55. Of that, the PDGA gets $2 (C tier), $1 for lunch and $4 for logo mug. It looks like I forgot to take overhead costs out, which will cost the club profits $32. The rest went to payouts.

After everything was taken care of the club managed to show a profit of right around $300. That turns out to be about $3.26 per player that played.

Today was awesome. The rain held out til the very end, and even though some of us had to go back out to play in it, it was a good time. Thanks to the Euclid DGC and to Summit DGA for a great tournament. :)

Those of you in town or staying in town Sunday evening there will be a byob get together at the TD's house, just minutes from the course. We will have a grill available and ice for your beverages of choice. Practice basket will be up and putting contests will be on, bring your singles! See you all in the morning!!!

Added Chris Ott to the tourney. Everyone bumps up one. We are going to have a hard cap on this tourney at 88. We simply don't have the extra stuff to take care of a bigger field, we planned for 88 max.

If you get left on the wait list, sorry, maybe we will see you again next year.

Wow. We fill the tourney two weeks early. The players on seem to come and go by the day and now, less than 48 hours away from the start of the 2011 Rock, we have ten players on a wait list?!! Crazy ****te. Crazy. The wait list is in with the registered players.

If you are not planning on playing, now would be the time to allow these people to make plans to travel and play.

Lesson for everyone, if you want in, plan early.

Firstly, Bob, the only extra hole we are playing is the practice basket, which we used last year for The Rock. Because we can not close down the beach, there will be no extra holes added out there. Secondly, Greg, I hope it is not an issue and someone steps up and backs out now.
