The Disc Golf Pins never made it in. The HOMAGE shirt order didn't either and of course there's nothing we can do. That's why we have both companies in the caddy guide but unfortunately the orders have not come in. The shirts were to be for sale with all proceeds going to LLS and the pins were players pack items. Pretty bummed, we don't have the DQ discs so we needed those to help raise money.

They were assesed the 2 strokes it just doesnt reflect on the hole like the other 2 cards. Jacob finished +3 with 3 birdies and 4 bogeys which should read +1 without the penalty. The other 2 groups it is reflected in the individual hole score

Jesse gave us the option to assess on the scorecard or have him add the strokes after the round. I took a 3 on hole 4 but our card just went ahead and added the penalty before submitting. I assume the other card that was penalized did the same

Andrew, I hope this message finds you well and I appreciate the misinformation you’re spreading. I’m thinking wires may have gotten crossed at some stage and would love to uncross them. To start, prior years do not matter, and if the time was taken to read my note, I indicated that part of my disappointment was in how the TD felt correcting this component of my original post held weight or mattered, when the discussion should have focused on how to correct the inconsistent adjudication of the PDGA Live comments.

Luckily, numbers don’t lie.
BHMO 2024 MA1 Brent Hambrick Round 4: Hole 4 (May 19th), PDGA marked as Par 4 - 488’. 66 players in the division with zero 2s (Hole Average 3.74). Would seem almost impossible from the shorts.
BHMO 2023 MA1 Brent Hambrick Round 4: Hole 4 (June 4th), PDGA marked as Par 4 - 488’. 56 players in the division with zero 2s (Hole Average 4.07). Would seem almost impossible from the shorts.
BHMO 2022 MA1 Brent Hambrick Round 3 and 4: Hole 4 (May 29th), PDGA marked as Par 4 - 488’.
35 players in the division in round 3 and 33 players in round 4 with zero 2s (Hole Averages 4.26 and 4.12). Would seem almost impossible from the shorts.

All 2024 event descriptions outlined on Disc Golf Scene state MA1 as playing strictly from the longs. The only publicly available BHMO 2024 caddy guide (as the hyperlinks on the website are inactive) refers to the pro tournament played in August, not the amateur weekend.

Your comment regarding caddy guides might be painting with a broad brush. Visual indications prior to an event cut down on these types of issues. Nowhere in the rules is PDGA Live a source of gospel tournament information. The TD is the final authority on all course rules, layouts, and decisions during a sanctioned event (801.02.F.6 and 806.02.E). While PDGA Live is a helpful tool, it is not an official rules source and does not carry authority on its own. Players are responsible for attending the players meeting (811.A.1), which did not occur, and following any course instructions provided by the Tournament Director. If there is a conflict between PDGA Live and the TD’s instructions, the TD’s word takes precedence. Misplaying based on incorrect assumptions, even if those assumptions come from PDGA Live, can result in a penalty (811.F.1). The TD should know their word is final and own up to the mistake rather than ruin a division’s results. Hiding behind the mailed-in contradiction of those comments shouldn’t have governed this ruling.

Anyway, I get the sense you’ll feel the need to reply, which is fine but wouldn't be surprised if this thread is removed like the discussion before it. From my end, this feels like a good stopping point for this sidebar.

Came to see how some people I know were faring and saddened to hear this. Fair to wonder if the 77% turnout for an A-Tier (the only one in Ohio?) is the cumulative result of situations like this. In 2021 (if I recall correctly) the 2nd round had an errant start time posted and multiple cards started before they were supposed to.

Update: If this gets deleted, I’ll just assume it wasn’t read or considered earnestly. And if that’s the route the TD wants to go, that’s fine too. No skin off my teeth. Otherwise, sharing some thoughts below.
To be clear; nothing against this guy, just calling it how I see it. It would be cool if he could look in the mirror and raise his hand on something that could have been avoided with a little effort on the front end. Instead he’s deleting civil comments that point out the inconsistency in his adjudication of the tournament (I didn’t write the caddie guide nor the comments on PDGA Live). But when these issues were raised mid-round and little to no consideration was given to the notion that there might have been a mix-up; I withdrew from the tournament.
All this to be said; I’m a man of action, and feel there were ample solutions that are in line with the official rules and regulations of disc golf:
Hold a players meeting prior to the round to outline any deviations from what’s historically been played (per 811.A.1).
Remove the hole’s score and double up on Sunday’s round of the same course. Within the TD’s power prior to the finalization of the final round (per 801.03.C & 808.G.1).
Was any of this discourse had? No. Instead the TD wanted to set the record straight on my original post that MA1 didn’t play longs at last year’s BHMO (spoiler; I looked at the tournament. 488ft Par 4… we played longs).
Now, in keeping with my self-proclaimed title of Man of Action, with the next two days wide open, I’m happy to show what this process could’ve looked like. I’ll build the kind of clear, division-specific caddie guide that outlines tee assignments, OB rules, and any deviations from past years. The type of material that should be distributed before play begins. Heck, I’ll have it wrapped before the final card drops Sunday.
This ends one of two ways: the comment gets deleted without being read, or we turn it into something useful; an actual working example of what tournament prep should look like for an A Tier.

So tee times are not happening this year and this is what's going down. 1 round Friday, 2 rounds on Saturday, and the last round on Sunday. This will be 4 rounds of shotgun start with both pools playing both courses twice. Please don't ask who is playing what tees.. lol.

Sweet. That’s pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Playing the 4 different courses has been nice, but I’m sure it’s been a load of work to get ready for and requires just that much more volunteers. Glad to be playing 2 courses twice each this go around.
