Hello and I hope you are preparing yourself for another great disc golf event!
First off, I would like to thank everyone who registered early and donated to the course. Those donations will be presented to our partners at the State Parks to be used to assist them with course improvements.
What to expect at the event…
1) All players are required to check in at the Pavilion across from hole 1, if you still owe payment, I suggest you arrive early to ensure that your registration is finalized prior to the check-in closing.
2) A mask or face coving is required when social distancing is not obtainable, and all State Park rules, and State Guidelines must be followed.
3) All hole assignments will be posted the evening prior to the event but please remember that there is always the possibility that assignments could change.
4) There will be a short players meeting beginning at 9:40am at the pavilion just to ensure everyone is clear on the course rules and how to utilize the scoring app. If you have questions, please ask.
5) All Amateur players will be receiving a voucher for their players pack which can be used anytime during or after the event but must be used prior to leaving.
6) ACE Pot, if no aces are hit during the round, we will be doing a CTP for the pot.
7) After the event we will have payouts and announcements. Pro divisions will be paid out in cash and all amateur divisions will be paid out in merchandise.
Guidelines Regarding Covid-19
If you are not feeling well or have been around someone that has been ill you are advised by the PDGA, CDC, the State of Delaware and the DDG Club not to attend this event.
Mask and/or cloth face covering must be worn when social distancing cannot occur during the entire event. This means while on the course, during break and after the event. Social distancing guidelines provided from the CDC and State of Delaware must be adhered to.
All Participants must adhere to PDGA, CDC and State of Delaware Guidelines regarding event and competition during this time. Failure to adhere to these will result in immediate disqualification from the event.
General Tournament Rules
1. It is the responsibility of the participant to know the course layout and have a clear understanding of the PDGA rules and Competition Manual. Questions are allowed prior to the start of the event.
2. All participants in this event will acknowledge that there are walking paths that intersect with the disc golf course. If park patrons are utilizing the walking paths, please respectfully wait for them to pass or utilize a spotter to ensure safety. This is a park with a disc golf course not the other way around.
3. SPOTTING - It is the responsibility of each player to watch their throws, but it is mandatory for all players to assist with spotting for their card mates. There are a lot of leaves on the course and speed of play is important at Iron Hill. If a player is searching for their disc, ALL the players on the card must assist, and a 3-minute clock/timer MUST be used. After 3 minutes if the disc cannot be found that player must return to their previous lie and assess 1 penalty stroke. Example: A player throws their tee shot and cannot locate it after the 3-minutes has expired, that player must re-tee.
4. For OB’s, if any shot is thrown out of bounds that player will play their next shot from where the disc was last in bounds. There are no drop zones.
Tournament Schedule
• All hole assignments will be posted on the PDGA tournament website.
• Scoring will be completed via the PDGA scoring app at
www.pdga.com/score. Please be prepared to utilize your phone/web browser during the event. Password will be provided upon check-in.
*All course info, order of play and layout order will be loaded in the app.
• You may warm up on the course prior to each round and I would ask that if you are just putting, please do that on the course to avoid crowds at the practice baskets.
• If a player misses their tee time or tee shot in the rotation after time has expired, they will receive par plus four additional strokes. Continue play and continue in that process until they are present on the next hole. PDGA rule: 1.05 sec F
