As of yesterday, we have re-allocated cards from both the Pro Grandmasters and the Pro women. All the other divisions are in mid-card. We run our events by divisional cards as opposed to straight sign ups. Therefore, each division is allocated number of cards which are then assigned to a course pool ... more

As of yesterday, we have re-allocated cards from both the Pro Grandmasters and the Pro women. All the other divisions are in mid-card. We run our events by divisional cards as opposed to straight sign ups. Therefore, each division is allocated number of cards which are then assigned to a course pool. Once a date passes (yesterday), any empty cards are allocated to another division assigned to the same pool. In this case the pro women card became Advanced and the Pro Grandmasters became Pro Sr. Grandmasters. If additional cards open up, the will be moved to divisions that have a full card of wait list registrants. A few days before the event we MAY decide to mix divisions on cards if the scenarios seem to afford like speed of play and similar tee pad assignments. Gary, in your case, you are third on the list, so three people would need to drop from your division for you to be promoted into the event. If you would prefer to receive a refund you must request via email to [email redacted]. Otherwise, most waitlist refunds will be processed just before the tournament.

yep, Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is the best spot and there are 3 more courses on that park. We do events there in May and Sept.

CROSS COURSE AMATEUR CHALLENGE Four divisions: 1) Blue: Adv. and Adv Masters Men 2) White: Intermediate and all age protected Adv. divisions 3) Red: Recreational 4) Casual/Supporter - Only plays one round at reduced cost. Of the top 3 divisions, once 10 players sign up in a division there will be a spot awarded for the Barnett Park Championship. Event runs from 9 - 4. Either put together you own groups or we can card you up and then play both courses. Cost $20, $10 for Casual/Supporter division.

Thats correct Scott, looking at jan 15 for three amateur spots (adv./ adv mstrs: intmd and remaining age protected: rec) will need a specific numbers of participants in each group to award free entry. $20 entry

Of course not. We looked at all the past events participation and registration data and had to make a judgement call on this particular event. With the shortened daylight we don't run cards of five and it lessens the number of people in the field. With there being about 20 potential divisions in a pro/am event there really isn't a way to accommodate everyone. Thats why you'll see that quite a few divisions are not offered. We balance the lessor participated divisions between the three events that we host each year. For instance, the Orlando Open will have all the divisions that are missing from this event. It's a rough challenge to make these calls.

My read of the "about" page indicates that after Feb.1 the MS1 division will exist when three eligible players register with that intention. Perhaps even MPS will find room after Feb 1?

Nice angle on the read fred. I wish wei had thought of that before we launced registration. The original intent of the feb 1 date was to then release some spots back to the waitlist.

The waitlist piece was something I had considered. 34 spots and 13 waitlist as of today- statistically speaking, there is a current margin of 21 that may not be eliminated by, let's say, Feb 1. It's a slim chance of course. Seniors who can make last minute plans might jump at the chance.

I play AM.Some weeks ago I started looking for warmer climate events, including this one. Work, family, and travel issues have kept me from a decision so far. I took this event off my "maybe" list when there was doubt about the MS1 division. Now that I see that there is a good MG1 showing, I regret having too little time to make economical travel arrangements.
