There was a delay and an error in getting the tee times to upload correctly. We are not exactly sure the reason for the error however we did need to manually update one score card and everything worked correctly after that. The current tee times should be correct now.

I don't see the access code for the PDGA digital scorecard anywhere. Did I miss it or will it be given out when we tee off?

It will also be provided at the starter tent.

Anyone in the raptors knoll area have a referral for acupuncture or chiropractors?

Preferably, someone that is good with lower backs

This is my first large tournament and want to make sure I follow proper etiquette. Is the PDGA dress code (collared shirts) strictly enforced? Are shorts and a well fitted shirt considered acceptable? thanks for any information!

The division you are playing in is also a factor. Check the PDGA Competition Manual for specifics.

John Gould-Thorpe   July 20, 2022 at 4:49am

we will be following the 3.04 Dress code https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/304 with the exception that the Amateur divisions may wear tee shirts in any round.

Jordan Newman   July 20, 2022 at 5:21am

thank you for the information john!

Alex Slotty    July 19, 2022 at 4:29am

I was wondering if it's possible to switch to an earlier tee time assuming someone else is willing to switch in MA2. My partner is teeing off at 7:40 and I'm currently at 9:20 so earlier would be less waiting for both of us

John Gould-Thorpe   July 19, 2022 at 6:22am

We have had so many people reach out to me to ask to change tee times that it would have been impossible to accommodate everyone. To keep everything the same for everyone and running smoothly we will not be adjusting anyone's tee times unless a player drops from the event and make a change requ ... more

Alex Slotty   July 19, 2022 at 7:35am

Ok, no problem. Thanks for letting me know

Justin Yan    July 18, 2022 at 8:48pm

I'm not sure if this is in any rulebook or if this is normalized at all, but are non-MPO competitors able to have a caddy accompany them during the tourney?

I would say it's unusual but I caddied for my partner before in a AM tournament and it was no issue at all. I'm sure no one will mind

Ken Nelson   July 19, 2022 at 6:44am

just make sure the caddie knows not to be talking or moving during shots and know that you are responsible for them. Shouldn't be an issue.

Chris Ogden    July 18, 2022 at 6:25pm

When will the layout be ready at Raptors to play?

John Gould-Thorpe   July 18, 2022 at 6:27pm

Baskets will be moved for sure by Wed night. It may happen before then.

Spencer Munro    July 15, 2022 at 9:47pm

Could I please register for one of the last remaining Mpo spots? My work schedule has changed and I am now able to attend

Are both courses cart friendly? It looks like it but wanted to double check :) Thanks! Looking forward to the trip up!

yes both cart friendly

For the practice day on Thursday, July 21st: Do you know the estimated park hours for the Campbell Valley course? I'm wondering if there is still enough time for some practice if I arrive in the evening. Thanks

open to dusk Gate will be closed at 9:00 or earlier if there are no cars left.

Alex Slotty   July 14, 2022 at 7:19pm

Great, thanks a lot for the info

John Gould-Thorpe   July 18, 2022 at 11:44pm

Hi Alex, It was pointed out that I made a mistake when I responded to you before. The CAmpbell valley course in only open for practice rounds until 6:00pm on the 21st. You are welcome to still walk the course after 6:00 pm but we ask that you do not play as there may be horses after 6:00pm.

Tony Iammarino    July 12, 2022 at 7:54pm

I played the alt course at the equestrian site. It was great, thanks for all the work it must have taken to set that up.

My question is, will the tee pads remain the partially cleared grass that were there this past Sunday? Or will there be additional work to implement a more even surface?

I’m pumped either way, just curious for equipment purposes and what shoes to wear.

John Gould-Thorpe   July 12, 2022 at 9:04pm

We will be doing as much work as we can to improve the tee pads before hand. They will be better then the test day for sure.

Darryl Petrichuk    July 12, 2022 at 2:12am

hey John, are the tentative start times for the divisions, be the same all three days?

Where do you see these tentative start times?

Tanya Nodder   July 12, 2022 at 5:15pm

Never mind I found it on the BCOpen page. Good lord, 7am start time all 3 days for FA2? For reals? Ouch:(

John Gould-Thorpe   July 12, 2022 at 9:07pm

For structure I decided to keep it the same for all DIV each day. Yes it is early but at least it is before the heat. and it leaves you with most of the day still free. There is no perfect solution.

Christian V    July 11, 2022 at 3:08am

Hello TD, I am working until 1:30pm in Vancouver. Takes around an hour, possible 1.5 from Vancouver to Raptor Knoll so with this in mind, can you book me a late afternoon tee off instead of morning? Many thanks!

Alex Nowak   July 15, 2022 at 3:24pm

I think tee times are set by division. Pool A Div estimated start times FA1(7:00),MA1(7:40),FP40(10:40), FP0(10:50), MP50(11:20),MP40(11:50), MPO(12:40) Pool B Div estimated start times FA2(7:00), MA2(7:50), MA60(12:20) MA50(12:40) MA40(13:30)

Christian V   July 18, 2022 at 5:00am

I am okay with play with different div in the afternoon.

John Gould-Thorpe   July 18, 2022 at 5:21am

We will not be able to adjujst your tee time outside of your Division. I have resent you the original email that I sent to you on the 11th.

Terry Rigby    July 9, 2022 at 11:57am

In the caddy book hole 13 shows both basket locations but there is nothing in the course notes (that I've seen) as to which baskets each division plays to. Can we get clarification on this?

Hi John, the version of the caddy book I downloaded has blank pages for Course Notes. Is it possible there's a new version where this clarification and others are made?

Alex Nowak   July 16, 2022 at 3:30am

My apologies, I see it listed on the website.

John Gould-Thorpe   July 16, 2022 at 11:06pm

The blank pages are for you to write your own course notes to help you with your rounds. We will update the web page with any notes that we fee all players should know and we will also be doing a digital players meeting to give that overview also.

sorry forgot to click one more button. It should be free to view now.

Hi, I'm wondering if I had to miss the first round due to work, if I would be allowed to play the remaining rounds?

John Gould-Thorpe   June 20, 2022 at 5:40pm

Any player that does not submit a score on a round will be marked as DNF or 999 as long as you notify the TD and will not be assigned a tee time for the next round. If you run late to make your tee time you get a score of par + 4 for each hole missed and then start tracking your score when you can catch up to your group.

Charlie Picken   June 18, 2022 at 6:41pm

So there's still 4 spots for AM and 3 for pro?

John Gould-Thorpe   June 18, 2022 at 11:15pm

yes.

Steve White    June 3, 2022 at 5:21am

Acerunners has generously offered for the top MJ18 or MJ15 player from the BC Junior Championships this month to win a free sponsored entry to the BC Open, MA1 division. Does someone know of anyone willing to offer a similar scenario for the top Female Junior player from the same tournament, to have a sponsored entry to the BC Open FA1 division? If anyone would be willing to sponsor this, it would be a great way to advance equal opportunity for the girls in the sport.

Hi John, are fj18 and fj15 playing the same layout? Would you be open to Bramble Bashers offering the same sponsorship opportunity to our female juniors?

John Gould-Thorpe   June 3, 2022 at 7:44pm

I just confirmed with the TD of the BC Juniors and they did confirm that FJ18 and JF15 are playing the same layout. Brambel Bashers are welcome to sponsor overall winner from the Female side and we will reserve that spot.

Julie Moens   June 3, 2022 at 8:11pm

Sounds good. I will get in touch with the tds and figure out how we can advertise this.
