WELCOME to the 40th Annual Minnesota State Championships!!!
We are sending out some information prior to the start of the event so that everyone knows some of what to expect. If you have questions, please let us know on Disc Golf Scene, the Facebook event page, or via email.
Check-In
Player check-in is from 7:30-8:30am in the garage at Cedar Creek Park. Amatuer players can pick up their player packs and everyone can sign up for the optional ace pools.
Tournament Central
Because we are using PDGA Digital Scorecard, there will be no overall tournament scoreboard to review at Tournament Central. I’m sure most people are used to this by now, as it has become the standard. Please go to
www.pdga.com/live to look at scores and
www.pdga.com/tour/event/53279 to check next round times AND starting holes.
Round 1 Hole Assignments
Hole assignments for round one are posted at
www.pdga.com/tour/event/53279. The order of the courses you will play is already set and listed below, but the round 1 hole assignments are not posted earlier because player drops and subsequent additions from the waitlist continue to change groupings. Regardless of when you check these hole assignments, please make sure to check again on Saturday morning after the players meeting before heading to your hole. I would also advise you to refresh the page, as I’ve heard of incidents at other tournaments where old information was cached and updated information was not displayed.
Online Scoring
All official scores will be done through PDGA Digital Scoreboard. If you need an overview, you can read up at
http://bit.do/pdgascoring and when it’s time to go, simply go to
www.pdga.com/score to get started. The access code is: state. These scores will be official and authoritative. That is, if you confirm an incorrect score, that is the same as turning in an incorrect physical scorecard and you would be penalized. Tips that I’ve learned in using this for previous tournaments are to sign out and sign back in if you are having issues loading anything, especially between rounds. Most importantly don’t forget to click confirm on your round at the end - simply entering the scores of the last hole is not enough. Physical scorecards are available to be used as backups in the event of technical difficulties. If this is your first time with PDGA Digital Scoreboard, please keep an open mind and try it out. It has had great reviews from people playing my tournaments and helps everything run much faster and smoother.
Food On Site
Food will be available on site on Saturday, as usual. Options will be chili and pizza. Please bring cash to make the transactions during our lunch break as quick as possible! As with everything else absolutely ALL proceeds will go back into the tournament and courses.
Tournament Format
All divisions will play two rounds on Saturday - one on Cedar Creek East and one on Cedar Creek West. Order of play is posted below. After Saturday’s rounds there will be a cut to reduce the field size to the payout line. All open fields will be cut to 40%, and all amatuer fields will be cut to 45%. If there is a division of two, both players will make the cut. The remaining players will play one round Sunday on Cedar Creek Central. Round 1 will start promptly at 9:00am on Saturday. Round 2 will start one hour after the last card has confirmed their score from round 1. Check the PDGA website and Facebook event page for the start time and starting hole of your second round. Round 3 will start at 10:00am on Sunday. Schedule can be found on Disc Golf Scene as well.
The order of play for each pool on Saturday is listed below:
Pool A (MPO, FPO, MP40, MP50, MA40): West, East
Pool B (MA1, MA2, FA1, FA2): East, West
All divisions will be playing long tees on West.
Sunday One Round C-tier
Cedar Creek East will have a one round C-tier called “States Revenge at Cedar Creek” on Sunday morning. Short player meeting at 8:30am and tee time at 9:00am. Because we want to make this available to anyone who didn’t make the cut, registration will not be open until after the second round on Saturday. Registration will open shortly after second round scores are finalized and Sunday’s field is established. Please register right away if you are interested, as we will also be opening this up to anyone else in the area.

Course Info
Overall disc golf complex map can be found on
www.cedarcreekdiscgolf.com under the courses tab. Individual hole information can be found on the tee signs, using the links to Disc Golf Course review, or on UDisc. All baskets are currently in their tournament positions and will not change positions between the two days. Course maps, hole information, and all OBs are listed in the attached PDF to this email.
Ace Pools
There will be three optional ace pools ($1, $5, and $20) available. Sign up for the ace pools during check in before the first round starts on Saturday. If an ace pool is not hit, there will be a throw off for the money after round 3 on Sunday.
Raffle
Tickets will be sold at Tournament Central. Tickets will cost $2 for 1 tickets, $5 for 3 tickets, or $30 for 20 tickets. Raffle will include a Chainstar Pro Basket as well as other items.
Payouts
Payouts will be available on site only. Amateur payouts will be available through J&J Disc Golf, Treasures of the Forest, and CCO. Payouts can be split between these vendors however you want when used on site. Payouts will be done fast, but if you need to leave prior to payouts you must arrange for an online voucher from ONE of the vendors before doing so.
Withdrawal
If you need to withdraw from the tournament, please go into Disc Golf Scene and do so immediately. All PDGA rules for refunds will be followed. At this stage, refunds are only possible if someone is found to take your place from the waitlist.
