Good Morning Players!
Hard to believe it but we are just over a week away from the 2025 Gulf Coast Garage Sale Presented by Dynamic Discs. As we lead up to the event, I wanted to give you all some tips for practice this upcoming weekend.
Layouts
Both courses are in the tournament layout as of this morning. Technically Cypress is almost always in the tournament layout because there are only a handful of baskets and they almost never move. Please remember, all divisions will play from the short pads on 4 and 8; this is for pace of place and safety purposes. For all female divisions, your ladies specific layout will be all short pads plus the long pad on 6.
At Picnic, a handful of baskets were just moved yesterday to make the full layout playable. As a reminder for Picnic, your pad assignment designation (Ladies, Long, Short) only applies to the teeing surface and not the baskets. That is, if your pad assignment is Long, that means you will play from the long pad on every hole. All players will play to the same basket on each hole, regardless of pad assignment, and that is located in the pictures section of the registration page and is sampled below:
C - Blue means you are playing to the blue basket in the C Position. B - Orange means you are playing to the orange basket in the B Position.
This image is correct for all holes except Hole#1 at Picnic. More on that below.
All unused baskets will be covered for the event.
Pad Assignments
Pad assignments are also in the pictures section of the registration page. The event is split into two pools (A and B). A pool will start at Cypress in the morning and move to Picnic in the afternoon. B Pool will do the opposite and start at Picnic in the morning and move to Cypress in the afternoon. Once you find your division, slide over to the right and see what pads you are playing at each course. Any questions, just let me know.
Hole #1 at Picnic Island
Anyone who has played Picnic recently knows the short pad on hole #1 has seen better days since it was damaged by last years storm season. We are in the process of replacing that pad and hope to have a new pad poured before the event. If you are practicing this weekend, I will be going out and putting down pink whisker markers where the new pad will be. It will be located just a few feet in front of where the current broken short pad is. All divisions will be playing from the short pad to the blue basket. This was an intended change to our events before the storms came through as having divisions play from the long pad on 1 was causing a safety issue with other park goers. Again, all divisions will play from the short pad to the blue basket on hole #1 at Picnic.
In the meantime, if anyone has any questions just let me know. Thanks!
