2019 Alberta Provincial Championships

We added the Tee Box signs to the course this morning.

Pool A - Yellow Signs are right beside the tees you'll be using for the event.
Pool B - Blue Signs are right beside the tees you'll be using for the event.

This will be made even easier to track because your scorecards will be the same colour as the tee signs you'll be playing from. Additionally, your Player cards on the Scorepoint (leader board) will also be of the same colour.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: There is no smoking on the course. There is no alcohol allowed on the course. This a PDGA Sanctioned B-tier event and very likely not your first Loborodeo. ZERO TOLERANCE for the consumption of Cannabis and/or Alcohol from the two-minute warning until you hand in your card.

There is only ONE PLACE to smoke near the course, and that isn't the parking lot. It's at the gate near the sand bucket on the road.

Hole 15 UPDATE:

For those of you who’ve been getting practice rounds we’ve got an update regarding hole 15.

We will be taking a couple additional trees out near the pin placement on Friday. This will open up a couple of putting lanes at the topside of the green.

Hole Distances +++
We've been provided with a rangefinder to provide accurate hole distances today. Lobo will be out there doing that bit of fun this evening. This will be posted here at one point in the evening.

Out-of-Bounds +++

All fence line is OB. Please take your next shot from the location your disc exited the legal playing area.

Hole 6: There is OB that is running on the lefthand side of the short grass. If you are 100% on the other side of this line on your First Drive you'll be throwing your third shot from the Dropzone.

Any OB shots after your First Drive will be taken from where your disc exited.

There will be an update incoming later this evening.

Our MP55, MP50 divisions have been closed. Our lone MP55 has moved to MA40 filling the last spot in that division.

The only divisions currently accepting registration are FA1, FA2, and FA4. It's very likely these three players will merge into one single division due to low turnout.

Our Divisions are now set. There are 6 slots remaining which have been allocated to the following divisions:

MP55 - We're currently on 1/3 - 3 players are required to make this division legal.
FA1 - We're currently on 1/3 - 3 players are required to make this division legal.
FA2 - We're currently on 1/3 - 3 players are required to make this division legal.
FA4 - We're currently on 1/3 - 3 players are required to make this division legal.

MIXED AM divisions are filling up. If you’re not registered yet I strongly urge you to jump on the waitlist.

September 15 will see slots reserved for the Open divisions open up. Priority will go to those Mixed Ams on the waitlist.

After discussing the event schedule with registered players and the tournament team we've decided to condense this event into a one-day B-tier event. SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 22 is the day we've established as the tournament date.

We'll have lunch available for players($10) on Sunday so to mitigate any need for you to travel from the venue to town to get nourishment.

We’ve established or waitlist for each of the Pools at 20$. When we get closer to the event we’ll open division caps up.

Our venue for the 2019 Alberta Provincial Champions has been set. We're very pleased to announce WJ Homestead as our venue for the event.

Registration will reopen on August 12, 2019 at 12:00pm.

RPM Discs will provide our player pack discs, we'll have more information about the rest of our sponsors on August 12.

You’ll notice we’ve reserved a slot in each division for the 2019 Alberta Tour Series winners. This is so we can ensure the champs are ensured a place in their respective divisions.

Entry fees are not covered. In the event the champ can’t attend the second place winner will be provided the reserved slot.

Due to David Richardson Memorial being unavailable for the weekend of the event we've disabled registration. We'll have an update on where our new venue will be Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Full refunds will be offered to the registered players in the event our new venue doesn't work for you. Unfortunately, there are a number of factors that have required us to pivot to a new venue, which I can assure you is only due to the fact the park is being handed over to Calgary Parks around the same time our event would be hosted. In short, the venue isn't bookable until after this transaction occurs.

Furthermore, Baker Park will no longer be our second course. In fact, it's likely we'll only have one course. That means we'll be capping the event at 72 players, with slots being reserved for the Alberta Tour Series Champions and the North Woods Tour Champions.

It does limit the number of players we're going to accommodate, but it also means we're going to have the most dedicated shooters in Alberta in attendance. We appreciate this might come as a surprise, but as this is our first official PDGA Sanctioned AB Championships of the modern era we're seeing it as an opportunity to do something awesome.
