About this tournament

The Throwdown Hoedown and Disc Golf Club Symposium is a weekend of disc golf events for players representing clubs in PA, WV, OH, NY. at YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee (126 Nagel Road, Fombell, PA 16123)

Our vision for the weekend is to promote equity in our disc golf community, strengthen the leadership and membership of our clubs, and provide fun, competitive formats for disc golf play.

Saturday morning and afternoon will feature a 48-hole club team competition using an Ideal team roster of 1 open player, 1 woman player, 1 master aged (40+) player and 1 Rec (under 900 rated) player. Clubs may field team rosters that are not ideal. Throwdown tournament entry fee includes lunch, tournament disc, and prizes.

Team players must all be members of the same club (current membership or bag tag holder), or if no club is formalized, regular players at the same course. A club may have more than one team participating, i.e. Pittsburgh Flying Disc Society/Knob Hill, PFDS/Phillips Park etc. We want to have as many clubs and courses in the region represented, but the field will be limited to 96 players or 24 teams.

Teams that compete with an Ideal roster will earn a bonus deduction from their final team score. Total team score will be an aggregate of handicapped round scores of individual team members' stroke play in the morning round, plus totals from an afternoon round of doubles with each team having two pairs in whatever combination they choose.

The Throwdown is an Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE) Charity Tournament Partner and will benefit EDGE programs in Pennsylvania.

The Hoedown ticket includes an all-you-can eat Saturday evening buffet, Keynote presentation, entertainment, Flymart/Swapmeet, Putting contest and Night Flite disc golf.

The VIP ticket gets you all of the above and also reserves overnight accommodations in triple-occupancy private rooms at the modern Cochrane Lodge (60 person limit, towels and linens provided but you may want to bring extra blanket), as well as Sunday morning continental breakfast, participation in the Disc Golf Club Symposium, and Sunday lunch. ***2017 VIP TIX SOLD OUT! **

A ticket for the Disc Golf Club Symposium on Sunday includes lunch and participation in presentation discussions such as Disc Golf 4 Women, Building your Club, Charity Partnerships, Youth Disc Golf, and State Disc Golf Hall of Fame.

We'll use the PDGA refund policy to handle issues of withdrawal from the event that are not able to be filled from a waitlist.
