About this tournament
3 rounds of play
Join us for the second annual Lake Ontario Open - LOO 25
Experience the challenge and beauty of three of Ontario's top disc golf courses at the second annual PDGA sanctioned Lake Ontario Open. This exciting tournament will be hosted across three premier locations: the picturesque Newcastle, the challenging Cedar Creek, and the stunning Haute Goat. Each course features a mix of tight wooded lines and open field holes, demanding a full range of throws and a diverse selection of discs to navigate the varied terrain effectively.
Participants will have the opportunity to play each course once, with two rounds scheduled for Saturday and one round on Sunday.
The tournament format, whether scheduled tee times or shotgun start, will depend on the number of registrants. Players can expect to tee off for Round 1 on Saturday at 9 AM and for Round 2 in the afternoon. On Sunday, tee times will likely be scheduled between 9 and 1, with players finishing between noon and 4 PM. Prizes and photo opportunities for champions will occur as each division finishes their round.
The LOO promises a weekend of top-tier disc golf and scenic holes. Layout assignments for all divisions are to be finalized, but will parallel the layouts we intend to use for the Canadian Championship. This will be a great opportunity for you to get in some serious practice rounds.
As we are considering this a warm-up for the Championship we have decided to keep the costs down. There will be no player pack but we will have prizes for the winner of each card on Sunday, prize TBD. Trophies will be awarded as per PDGA rules.
As per PDGA rules pass through fees are:
$80
Includes course fees and PDGA player fee.
Additional Incentives:
We'll have optional Ace Pots - that convert to a 50/50 if nobody wins them. Aces at any of the 3 courses over the 3 rounds are eligible for the pay out. Total pot is split between all players who ace. This season we are offering three tiers of ace pot.
We hope this becomes an annual tradition for many of you. Spending a summer weekend east of Toronto in this rolling rural landscape on three unique courses should be a highlight of your disc golf season.
