2025 Washington Park Pop Up - Charity Doubles.
We are aiming to help sponsor children to attend Summer Camp at Washington Park. Summer Camp runs June 23 - August 1 and provides Chicago’s youth with a fun-filled summer by engaging in fun, safe, and inclusive activities. This program is helped run by Ms. Collins: the Washington Park Supervisor and all proceeds go directly to sponsor a child for camp. Each child costs $200 for summer camp, and Hyde Park Disc Golf has a goal of sponsoring at least 2 children.
2 Rounds of 18, shotgun start
Approximate Schedule:
Check-in 8:00-8:40 AM.
Mandatory player meeting at shelter 8:45 AM. Hole assignments for Round 1 will be on UDisc.
Round 1 Tee Off: 9:00 AM.
Round 2 starts approximately one hour after the last card from Round 1 has finished. The start time for Round 2 will be broadcast on the Hyde Park Disc Golf FB page, TD table, and the DiscGolfScene comments tab. Hole assignments for Round 2 will be on UDisc.
Grouping and Sectioning of Divisions:
Teams will be comprised of 2 players. You must play in the division of the highest rated player on your team. If you need help selecting a division, please contact [email redacted]
Scorekeeping, Layouts
Score will be kept using UDisc similar to a league event. Players will check-in on UDisc and select the correct division prior to starting play. All divisions will play the same layout. Out of Bounds will also be listed on UDisc.
Special Rules are Listed Below.
Round 1 Wacky Rules:
--Spring Forward (Round 1 Only) – One Per Team: From any lie, if the shot attempts of both team members hit the basket/chains (does not include the portion of pole that extends beneath the cage), the team may count the hole as complete using their helping of “Spring Forward” The team must announce its intention to use this ability and thereby complete the hole.
--May Day! (Round 1 Only) – One Attempt per Player: Each player on a team must choose one hole for which the player will play alone without help from their partner. The team must announce their intention to “May Day!” on a hole prior to either member of the team attempting a throw on the hole.
If the player attempting the challenge scores less than Par on the hole:
(1) The player who successfully completed the challenge receives one Mulligan that the player may use during the remainder of Round 1. This awarded Mulligan cannot be given to or used by the other player on the team. This awarded Mulligan cannot be used during Round 2. Scoring a hole-in-one on a Mulligan throw does not count for the Ace pool.
If the player attempting the challenge scores Par or worse on the hole:
(2) The partner must perform "Spring Cleaning" and play alone on the next hole immediately following the unsuccessful “May Day!” attempt
Round 2 Wacky Rules:
--April Showers (Round 2 Only) – One Attempt per Team: your team may throw four total drives off the tee on any remaining hole (2 throws per player). You may choose to play from the resulting lie of any of your throws. Scoring a hole-in-one on your team’s 3rd and 4th throws with this advantage does not count for the Ace pool. You must announce your decision to use this power-up before attempting your next upshot or putt. Once you attempt your next shot, the power-up is no longer available on that hole.
--Cinco de Mayhem (Round 2 Only) – One Attempt per Team: On two consecutive holes, the team must play in true alternating shot format, meaning—no picking the best shot. Instead teams must alternate throws no matter what. The player who throws the final putt on the first hole must not throw the drive on the second hole. Their teammate must start the second hole instead and continue the alternating shot format until the two consecutive holes are completed. The team must announce their intention of "Cinco de Mayhem” on a hole prior to either member of the team attempting a throw on the hole.
