About the Tournament
Reykjavík Open 2025 marks the 10th edition of the event. This year, the tournament gains new prestige as part of the DGPT Europe Q-Series – an ambitious tour for professional and advanced disc golfers. This is a PDGA A-Tier event that awards points in the Q-Series Europe and provides a pathway to earning a Tour Card for the next DGPT season.
DGPT Q-Series Europe
The Q-Series is a qualifying tour within DGPT Europe, offering players the chance to earn eligibility for next season’s Tour events. Players who accumulate the most points across Q-Series events can earn a coveted Tour Card at the end of the season. The Q-Series Europe consists of several PDGA-sanctioned A-Tier tournaments, concluding with a final playoff event later in the year.
Only a player's best three Q-Series results count toward their points total. Players who have already secured a Tour Card for 2026 do not receive bonus points, though they may still participate in Q-Series events.
Important Notes
The event is designed for advanced-level players, though anyone meeting PDGA requirements may register.
A current PDGA number is required to participate.
Players are responsible for familiarizing themselves with all rules and course layouts.
Schedule
Thursday – August 28
Player Meeting (exact time TBA)
Friday – August 29
Round 1
Saturday – August 30
Round 2
Sunday – August 31

In the event of a tie for 1st place, a sudden death playoff will take place on holes 17 and 18 until a winner is determined.
Course Layout
The Grafarholt Disc Golf Course will be configured to meet DGPT and PDGA standards. A player guide and updated course maps will be published at least 10 days before the tournament. All course signage will be thoroughly reviewed and introduced to competitors ahead of time.
Code of Conduct
Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas near the Geisli parking lot.
Alcohol and drug use is strictly prohibited during competition.
Players violating these rules are subject to penalties or disqualification.
Players are asked to check in at the player meeting and no later than one hour before their tee time on the first day. Please report any withdrawals as early as possible.
Prizes and Points
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division.
Competitors will earn Q-Series Europe points, which may qualify them for a DGPT Tour Card for the 2026 season. Reykjavík Open is therefore a crucial event for many players pursuing professional disc golf at the international level.
