We are just under two weeks away from the Culpeper May Day Challenge by Dynamic Discs. I hope you all are as excited about this tournament as I am. I wanted to touch on a couple of things that needed to be passed along.
The first item is a temporary redesign on a couple of holes. As I mentioned in the virtual players meeting, Hole 18 was supposed to be repositioned by the Town prior to the tournament. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened. As such, we will be using the existing basket for 18, but there will be a temporary tee pad marked out on the walking path. This will make the hole a bit shorter, but will reduce the risk to players on the 1st tee pad. For those familiar with Rockwater Park, it will be a bout 100’ east of the current tee pad (Toward the road). It will be marked with flags and chalk on the walking path.
The other redesign is to Hole 7. There will be a temporary basket placed on the ridge and in front of the row of trees, to the right of the current basket, about 100’-150’. This is to allow movement from Hole 9 to hole 10 safely, and without concern for taking a driver to the head. I hope to have the temporary features in place Thursday evening prior to the tournament to allow players the opportunity to check them out the day before the tournament.
The second item to touch on is players who have been promoted from the waitlist. If you have been promoted from the waitlist, you must pay the balance of the registration fee in order to compete in the tournament. If you have been promoted from the waitlist, and haven’t paid the balance of the registration by April 28th, you will be removed from the tournament without refund of your waitlist fee, and the next player will be promoted to compete in your place. If you have been promoted and no longer wish to compete in the tournament, please let me know, so I can get the next player promoted and registered.
