Updates:
We will be playing a modified downtown layout similar to last year.
We will have a map uploaded shortly.
We have full permission from the city but there a lot of moving parts here. If in any situation a hole is not playable, skip it and come back to it after your round but inform us IMMEDIATELY.
Last year, a security guard for the library was not informed of the tournament and tried to stop the play. Scott Price did the exact right thing and called me. We were able to talk to the library's director and get it all cleared up. Unfortunately, Scott's group was not the first group to interact with that security guard. We will be looking to avoid situations like that this year.
We will be using PDGA's digital scorecard. You may request a paper scorecard as back-up.
Access Code: "thorne"
Common spots to get lunch between rounds.
Downtown:
-M1 Grille
-Alley Cat Cafe
-Fillmore 13 Brewery
-Little Mo's
Near Hawthorne:
-McDonald's
-Burger King
-Whatever they have at the cafeteria now in the Dixieland Flea Market (Can be delicious but dangerous, high risk/reward)
Divisions playing Hawthorne Longs:
MPO
FPO
MP40
MA1
MA2
All other divisions play shorts
Divisions playing Downtown Longs:
MPO
FPO
MP40
MA1
All other divisions play shorts
Plan for no bathroom at Hawthorne. We were hoping to get a port-a-john at hole 1 since the bathrooms are still closed but that may not be the case. The nearest bathroom is at Speedway or Burger King on the corner of Telegraph and Dixie.
***Public bathrooms can be accessed downtown at M1 Grill or inside between Exferminentation Brewery and Fillmore 13 Brewery.
