I am going by what the winery management team tells me. The 50 person limit for gatherings was enforced at this event last year by the liquor board so we are being cautious for the time being. I’ve told everyone to get on the waitlist because I expect restrictions to ease and a full 72 player field to be allowed.

Here is the way the restrictions are typically understood. 1/2 capicity inside the building. Capicity outside is limited to the number of tables (6 ft apart) on can possibly have. No group larger than 50. This last restriction is where I believe the issue is...there can be multiple groups as long as a single group does not exceed 50. So, 3 groups of 35 would be acceptable regardless if they are engaged in the same activities. For example, if 4 groups of 25 wine tasters want to visit the winery and they can stay socially distant from one another then there is no violation as long as the first two restrictions are observed. We can see with many tournaments, TDs are dividing the field into multiple groups. Or, it is conceptualized as a small group activity (all cards of 4 or 5 must stay 6 ft away from any other card/group). Hope this helps
