Part 2:
Holes 15 and 16 are island holes. If neither drive is on the grass, you have the option of using your mulligan with no penalty or you have to re-tee with a penalty.
Hole 17 is on a manhole cover but close to the walking path. Don’t go long. The volleyball courts are not O.B. but the playscape is O.B.
Both tee pads for Hole 18 have been relocated to the parking lot and have white paint defining them. Pay Attention. Hole 18 throws to the Practice Basket.
OK, Back to more tournament announcements:
Mulligans: Each team is allowed to purchase 1 $5 Mulligan per round. 100% of the Mulligans goes to the Detroit Capuchin Soup Kitchen (DCSK).
• If you did not purchase the 2 Mulligans at registration and wish to buy it in between rounds for your 2nd round, please let me know.
• When your team decides to use a Mulligan during either round, you both have to use your Mulligan shot together from the same place.
• If you wish to re-use a disc thrown from an errant shot while using your Mulligan, you may only do so on a putt. You cannot run down the fairway 300’ to retrieve a drive to rethrow. It takes too much time.
• If your team decides to use a Mulligan and both of Mulligan shots are worse than the original shot, you do not have to use the Mulligan throw.
After the 1st round is played and the last scorecard is turned in, there will approximately 1 hour until the 2nd round begins. Since we fell back an hour last night, it will be darker and hour earlier.
Due to the rain, it is very wet out there, please be careful. There are a lot of leaves on the ground and on some tee pads so try and watch everyone’s shots to help keep pace of play fast. If we all play both rounds with a good pace, we should be able to finish in the daylight.
We are playing Course A 1st for a few reasons:
• All of the CTPs except the 50/50 will be final at the end of the 1st round.
• Playing Course A 1st allows those who provided baskets time during lunch to put them away.
• It also gives us time to take the course down so we do not have to do that after the final round is played.
• Disassembling a temporary course causes a delay when we should be focusing on finalizing the event.
If your 1st round ends on a hole with a CTP flag, please return it to Tournament Central following the round.
If the last hole of your 1st round ends on a temporary hole, please bring in the flags from the tee pad area.
Since it rained last night, we tried to modify Course A so the majority of the tee pads are on concrete or black top for better, safer footing.
CTPs are as follows:
• Open Arms: Hole 18 (Course A)
• Big Arms: Hole 1 (Course A)
• Old Arms: Hole 3 (Course A)
• Small Arms & Mixed Arms Male: Hole 2 (Course A)
• Mixed Arms Females: Hole 16 (Course A)
• 50/50: Hole 13 (2nd Round)
• Longest Putt Everyone: Hole 12 (Course A)
• Open / Big / Master Arms Turkey: Hole 15 (Course A)
• Mixed / Small Arms Turkey: Hole 15 (Course A)
$5 from each person’s entry today will be going to the DCSK. In addition to the entry donation, 100% of the Mulligans, half of the 50/50, and all of the raffle will total the DCSK donation.
Totals for the Ace Pool and 50/50 will be posted after Registration has ended.
Payouts will be posted online during or after the 1st round has ended in case teams have to be added or removed in the morning.
NOTE: If a team gets in via the waitlist due to a no-show, the team may or may not be able to play on the card with another team in the same division. We will do our best to make sure this does not happen, time permitting.
Try and settle all disputes on your card. If you can’t please see me immediately after the round with your entire group.
Provisionals are your best friend, when in doubt throw a provisional.
If for some reason you have to withdraw during the 1st round or in between rounds, please let us know so we can arrange the board for the 2nd round accordingly.
And finally, after the 1st round, if you decide to leave the park, please make sure your scorecard has been turned in before you drive away.
If you have any other questions, call me at 248.515.0350
Thank you for playing in the MCCGs 18th Annual Turkey Open. Have fun. Hit an Ace.
