Event Plan
The safety and well being of the competitors at this event is paramount. I think you as the parent/guardian of the child can and should be the greatest first line of defense for your player. As such, I would like to ask the parents to talk with their players about trying to remember about using good social distancing practices with anyone that is not in their family. I know that the players will be excited about the event and may forget but please take a moment on the car ride to the event to remind your player about not touching other people's equipment even though they may be trying to be nice to return a disc to a competitor or give someone a high 5. Additionally, I also ask you now in advance, that you forgive any other competitor that may forget and touches your child's disc. I ask that you carry along with you some hand sanitizer knowing that some accidents very well take place.
Last year, we were able to have all of the items in the player packages laying out and allowed the competitors to pick out each item that they wanted. However, we will not be able to do that this year. We will have everything pre-packaged to hand out then you check in. In the morning when you arrive, you will be directed by a staff member to one of tthe 2-3 different check in stations in the area where the shelter building that we rented is in. We will have marked out spaces for the next people waiting in line. Please stay one space behind the group ahead of you as you move through the line.
The 1st round will play the same as normal, trying to keep social distancing during the round.
For lunch this year, we will be having per-packaged lunches from Jersey Mike's. It will include a sandwich, chips, & a cookie. The tables at the pavilion are extra large and heavy, making it much more difficult to spread them apart so unfortunately we will not be able to move them. I would suggest moving the ones that are outside the pavilion or eating in your car.
We will then play the second round as the first.
Unlike, last year, we will not have additional prize packages for the competitors. Everything that we have to give out will be in the packages that are picked up in the morning. Also please note, we do have less to give out as well. Last year, through the generous donation of many clubs and leagues in the state, who were able to come to events of mine, they were able to donate many items to this event and with COVID-19, that has not been possible this year. So, we hope in that respect that we will be able to have a bigger and better event in 2021 with less restrictions.
