Especially with the sudden change in registration cap, maybe could we release the individual caps on divisions for a few days, considering there were no posted division caps until today. I had no idea that those would restrict who could register. I understand that some tournaments do that at the beginning of registration to make sure a fair amount of players from all divisions can register, but this kind of sprung out of out nowhere. I completely understand that you/we can't control the weather, and how many holes the park can support, but it could be left with no division caps for a few days to let everyone who is ready to register now to get in. As the waitlist #1 spot, I hope/plan to get in anyways....MCCG always runs great events and I'm looking forward to playing!ing.

Aaron, the Pro field has been capped at 25 for quite some time now. This wasn't a last minute move, if people looked at registration they should of seen the caps. I lowered it to 20 once we made the decision to eliminate some holes. You can refer to the post on the MCCG page why we are capping the Pro Field. Registration has been open long enough to allow players to register. The MCCG tournaments have sold out quick this year.

Which post on the MCCG page? I just went to look and I did not see any related posts. This seems pretty out of the ordinary, I’ve heard of caps for divisions but typically they’re across the board. Why is there not an am 1, am 2, am 3, ect. cap?

I didn't see the individual capped spots, I guess because there were still spots available when I looked the day before the total number of spots dropped. No worries. Hoping that first on the wait list gets me in. Will I only get in if a pro drops, or if anyone drops?

Unfortunately a Pro Aaron. Mike, it's the third post on the News feed for the club it goes into finance at the end. I didn't cap individual am fields, just the Amatuer and Pro sides both keeping it as a FCFS like you spoke of

At March Mudfest pro's represented 31% of the field, at the Spring Fling pro's represented 29% of the field. Why is the pro field capped at less than 20% of the overall field?? It doesn't make any sense.

Ok Chris, so I just have to hope a pro drops. Will those caps be in place until the morning of? I assume that it will fill before the 23rd, but if the day of an am drops, will I get the spot, or will it be given to an am who wakes up that morning (or one who who joins the waitlist righin the couple days before)?

Aaron, that's a good question! I'll have to get back to you. Mike, like everything it comes down to money. With the new influx of pros the club can not sustain, were still in the negative, running tournament's actually costs a lot of money. If we didn't cap the pro field it would literally wipe out the club. Since there won't be any sanctioned tournaments next year I hope someone can step up and run some events to help bolster the club allowing it to run more events.

Thanks for looking into it Chris. Please let me know...if I’m only in if a pro drops, I may look for a different event that weekend. If I get in upon any player dropping, I’ll hold tight and hope to get in.
