When we found out we weren't getting as many as last year, we were trying to figure out a way to accommodate everyone. I am the one that pushed for a raffle since it was the only fair way I saw for everyone that wanted to get a watermelon a chance to get one. I am sorry.

We changed it weeks before with many comments and posts on multiple platforms. MVP changed the limit without notice this year at the very last minute. Our private location requires a security guard hired for events and does not allow people here before dark. (Guard didn't even show up anyways). The complex gets fined HEAVILY if they cause traffic to back up into the road here. If our rush of people at one time to get there causes a fine for them we could lose the course here. What we changed to it is the only fair solution in this situation.

If you look at any other type of special release or limited release from any other stores/companies fair isn't even a concern. Its first come first serve; People post up for these types of things, plan days in advance so they can have an item that few others have . That's earning it and that's fair. What I find unfair is people can hit snooze 10 times show 20 minutes late and still get a chance. I had planned to be at the event early and posted up waiting patiently, however the day before Ben informed me of this "fair raffle". Which I am mildly thankful I found out before hand because I would of been livid otherwise. Still have a rather bad taste in my mouth but it is what it is at this point and that's just my 2 cents.

Lottery is the way to go. Makes sense. I might have had the lottery before Tee time as a start of day thing during the players meeting or just before. Everyone would have been there, no one would yet be cranky tired from the 26 rounds, and less craziness.
