Davis Park update and work call

Hello All!

The course keeps getting closer to be playable. Parks crew finish falling trees and helped clear some of the fairways. Chad and I put two of three sleeves on hole 7(the Mounds) today. The third will go in next summer when we timber the south mound. There are only two holes left that have only one sleeve installed.

For those not going to Homer this weekend, we will be having a work day at Davis on Sunday, Sept. 30th starting at 10 am. Please come out and help if you have time available. I would really like to get this course ready for glow league!

Tasks to make the course playable, this is what needs to be done...
Clear fairways of limbs and logs to piles in non disc landing areas
Limb trees and clear around greens
Remove 2x4 forms from tee pads and back fill with gravel
Mark path from #6 green to #7 tees
Finish the front of #9 Blue elevated pad exit... (there will be a picture of the entrance on our Facebook page)

Tasks to do before ground freeze...
Clear and limb #2 B green, install sleeve
Install practice basket sleeve by hole #1
Level mulch build up in fairways, and/or move excess to greens areas
Dye front of pro pads blue (once leaves stop dropping)
Install posts for course signage and tee posts

Please post in comments if you are going to be present on Sunday. This will help makes sure we have things lined out for everyone, and we have the right tools available. As always many hands make light work and I hope to see many of you there.

I haven't worked that physically hard in years. It was so satisfying to see the "before and after" in the 1st and 2nd fairways. Last night I was bushed and sore! I'll come again when notified. It's go****to be a source of gladness for me to play the course and know I had a small hand in making it nice.

It's a great feeling for sure Elaine. I'm really excited for the debut of this new course.
