I'm not sure to be honest,my son turns 13 on Nov2 and doesn't feel he can compete with the kids who are 3 years older he is an above average player and I told him he has nothing to worry aboutIt will be our first time to compete in a world event but I know the team at dynamic discs and the city of emporia will make it a great time.We have seen and played courses and they want everyone to ha e a great time .To some it's a tourney to them it's a disc golf experience thanks for letting me comment hope to see you there.

I am sure that DD will make it an event and exp. to remember. More importantly it is about how we approach this as parents -- I was just curious about the age average and if he would be outclassed on every shot if all (most) of his competitors were 3 years older than he was. Alot of physical changes happen between 12 and 15.

The current age distribution (based on YOB, not birth date) is 14 players at age 13, 17 players at age 14, 21 players at age 15. Average is 14.13 years of age. It is important to note that the age break aren't just a Worlds thing. If a kid turns 13 during 2018 they must play MJ15 in any PDGA sanctioned event during all of 2018.

The age bracket should be if your 6 you play against 6 year olds none of this if you turn 7 in the calander year you play against 7 year olds. Please if we want to change our sport get involved several parents voiced concerns to the PDGA about the development of children and they refuse to take action. Making 6 year olds play agains 8 year olds because one was born in January and the other in December isn’t fair. 5 years ago the PDGA had a 10 and under devision so it is getting better but please if you think it’s wrong write the PDGA.
