I can open that division, but if you are the only one in that division we would have to move you to adv masters. To answer your question, as far as I can recall we have not had any requests for that division till now. I had a pro grand masters but they all decided to play masters or open.

Pete, thanks fot opening it up. I understand you need 3 players to open the division. Not having it from the beginning of signups limits who can choose to play in the adv gm division. This is the second AZ tourney this year where the adv gm div was not represented on the signup form. If there is not a choice, then no one will be signing up. So it is a self-fulfilling prophecy that you wont get anyone asking for an adv gm division.

In all the years I have run this event, We have never had a advanced grand masters division or a request for one. In all the years past I have offered it and never any takers. So I didn't place it on the roster this year because I basically know the bulk of those playing and they have chosen other divisions in the past. It has cost me labor and money to plan ahead and make trophies. I have 5-10 GM and other divisional trophies that I have handmade setting in the garage from past years that didn't get used. We have had pro grandmasters the last year or two as many of the masters have moved up and requested that division when the time came. My apologies, but you are the first request I have ever received. As a side note there are 40 different division codes with the PDGA, thats enough to make any TD's head hurt. We just try to do our best to bring a good event that people want to enjoy.

Pete, I appreciate your position with the trophies and other work to add the division. Being from the mid-west and attending many DD run tournaments, I may be spoiled with the offering of adv gm div in every tournament I have entered in the last 3 years. I will plan on playing a lower age division in the future, but I would really like to compete with folks in my age bracket.
