In all the years I have run this event, We have never had a advanced grand masters division or a request for one. In all the years past I have offered it and never any takers. So I didn't place it on the roster this year because I basically know the bulk of those playing and they have chosen other divisions in the past. It has cost me labor and money to plan ahead and make trophies. I have 5-10 GM and other divisional trophies that I have handmade setting in the garage from past years that didn't get used. We have had pro grandmasters the last year or two as many of the masters have moved up and requested that division when the time came. My apologies, but you are the first request I have ever received. As a side note there are 40 different division codes with the PDGA, thats enough to make any TD's head hurt. We just try to do our best to bring a good event that people want to enjoy.

Pete, I appreciate your position with the trophies and other work to add the division. Being from the mid-west and attending many DD run tournaments, I may be spoiled with the offering of adv gm div in every tournament I have entered in the last 3 years. I will plan on playing a lower age division in the future, but I would really like to compete with folks in my age bracket.

There are several campgrounds around the area, fool hallow campground has showers and such. If you are coming with a few people you could rent a house with Cool mountain vacation rentals. often that ends up being more cost effective than a hotel. it is a holiday weekend so the town will be busy.
