This is a very late reply (one that actually answers your question), but maybe others who play will find it helpful. 16 is the most dangerous hole as you are throwing across a lake. It's easier from the short pads of course, but you are still needing to clear about 300 feet to get close to the basket for a good birdie chance. You can throw to the right (further from the basket) to play it safer. If you throw the disc in the middle of the lake, you may never get it back.
