We head back to Root River this Saturday January 31st. February 7th is off because of The Big Freeze, but we will also be there February 14th, 21st, and 28th so that we can get all of our Root River rounds in before the course gets pulled for the thaw (sometime in March is likely).
I will be there this week (January 31st) with a fair amount of merchandise to allow some of you a chance to use up some of your funny money before I go away for 4 weeks. I also encourage you to come visit The Disc Barn before February 8th when I leave for Arizona . . . because the fill in league directors will not be bringing merchandise or new FM payouts with them. I am hopeful to be able to offer that in coming years but not this year.
Nick Williams will be the fill-in league director February 14th, 21st, and March 7th (if weather delays me from getting back).
Tyler Kollias will be the fill-in league director on February 28th when Nick is also in Arizona for The Memorial Championships.
Like I said . . . please tell me something specific to bring along (before Thursday). . . or plan a visit to The Disc Barn before February 8th or you will have to wait until I return in early-mid March.
I also made an announcement about makeup rounds on Facebook . . . copied below:
"I guess the league attendees have spoken and want makeup weeks allowed. Here are the specifications you must follow in order to do a makeup round: 1) You must play with at least 1 other person who regularly attends the league (does not also need to be submitting a makeup round, can just be along for the round). 2) You will let me know in advance you will be missing a league (or league dates) and will alert me with a photo of your scorecard when you are done (or turn it in to me in person) PRIOR to the missed round. You only get one chance at a makeup round so once you start . . . that round counts. NO WARMUP ROUNDS are allowed . . . your first round at Valley View for the day will become your league round. 3)The only weeks that will be allowed to be missed and makeup rounds allowed will be March 7th, March 14th, and March 21st. March 21st may end up as the Double Points Day at Valley View (if my special venue comes through on March 28th) so be sure to get your round in before March 21st if you need to do a makeup. 4) If you plan to miss Week #13 (March 7th), you will play your makeup round between February 28th and March 7th. If you plan to miss Week #14 (March 14th) you will play your makeup round between March 7th and March 14th. If you plan to miss Week #15 (March 21st) you will play your makeup round between March 14th and March 21st."
