This year I am going to try to be a little more lenient on tee time. I want to of course tee off at 6, but I will stretch it to 6:15 LATEST with call ahead. So if 1 person calls and says they will be there by 6:15 we will wait. No call...we tee at 6! Format is best shot doubles with two cash pots. 50/50 ctp, and of course MYSTERY!! If you do not know what mystery is, just feel free to ask me or one of the regulars and they will be happy to explain. See you Thursday!!

Sorry I just had to venture out beyond league for these tournaments for a minute to recognize some great players and Volunteers who make it all possible.

--------------
So with so many leagues going on throughout the State and now in June and July the HLWs there is more reason to fill your summer full of great Michigan Disc Golf leagues. sheldon bowen has been doing just that getting in 7 rounds so far in June, topping the Rounds leaderboard so far. Close behind with 6 rounds each are Scottie Reslock, Phil "Puttimus Prime" Common & Jake Pardo. Now Sheldon got his 7 rounds playing at 6 different leagues, which also puts him at the top of the Leagues leaderboard.

Still 9 others are close with 4 leagues each so far:
2 Scottie Reslock 4
2 Jake Pardo 4
2 Sam Hardesty 4
2 samuel smith 4
2 Tony Mapes 4
2 Wade Calvert 4
2 Gabe Cadorin 4
2 Daryl "D_rail" Ballios 4
2 Phil "Puttimus Prime" Common 4

But currently Sheldon Bowen is looking like he will be plundering our DGLA Treasure chest at the end of June if he keeps this up. Yes the top spots on the League, Win and Rounds leaderboards will get to choose some booty from the DGLA treasure chest - Also the player who attended the most HLW in the month of June. The same is true for July so get out and enjoy those rounds and reap the rewards. If there are a tie, such as currently with the Wins leaderboard with ten players with 2 wins in June so far - we will look at the HLWs to break the tie as Digital throw-offs just aren't as the same as being on the course.

All Leaderboards » June Wins
Player Wins
1 Jeremy Kemp 2
1 Brian Carroll 2
1 Tim Wood 2
1 Curt McGill 2
1 Ryan Anderson 2
1 Robert Duck 2
1 Dustin St. Aubin 2
1 Scottie Reslock 2
1 John Wisswell 2
1 Walt Smith 2

Now points are the the name of the game in a point series and the title of Michigan 2014 Summer Disc Golf League Champion or awards for the DGLA Player level members help to commemorate their points achievements.

Currently Jerry "Chilly" Chilson has amassed the most points in June so far with 175 points, with one Ace on Hole 12 at Ypsi Dubs 2014 Summer League -={Church}=- Suuuuundays for 25 points but he got 76 points instead of 38 since it was a HLW round - Double Points!!! I guess those HLW do pay off ;-)

Actually every player in the top ten spots has attended at least one HLW, except one Geoff Bennett - who decided to do it Old School but I suspect he will get a few HLWs before it is all over.

1 Jerry "Chilly" Chilson 175

6 Steve DeWitt 141
7 Geoff Bennett 130

9 Mark Rosecrans 120
9 Nathan Mullins 120

So with all these league rounds and HLW Double Points how is the Overall leaderboard looking?

Well no surprise those who are on the monthly leaderboards for most rounds, league, wins are also at the top of the overall leaderboard. The gap between 1st and 10th is widening to 302 points, that is about three big HLW league wins, and with 6 weeks left in the season with many HLWs (Double points) anything can happen.

If you ever needed a little extra reason to travel and play a new course or a new league or go back to a league you have not played in awhile - check the HLW schedule - Double your fun & Double your points.

Also we have 792 players so far playing league rounds in the MiCPS. We have already beat our record but we could - like this last Winter - Smash the records. Grab a friend and bring them to Leagues. They just need a little nudge and you know they will love it, learn more about the sport and you will have more fun as well.

Enjoy the Rounds - Peace
