5. Finance (Louie)– yearly and monthly reports on ADGA finance. How much money was spent and on what and how much money was brought in 2013. What is our current balance? Money collected during leagues should go to course maintenance for the course that league was played at. Membership fees go into the general operating fund for large-scale course maintenance and construction projects. Receipts for donations/sponsorship?

6. Non-Profit Status – The ADGA is a Nonprofit Corporation (#123227) recognized by the State of Alaska. Our purpose is to “promote the sport of disc golf.” Biannual report for 2013 has been filed and we are current for 2014.

7. Insurance – The ADGA currently has insurance in place for all members. Additionally insured include (Eagle River Parks and Rec., the City of Homer, and the Jack Gist Recreational Park Ass., Birch Hill, City of Fairbanks, Mat-Su?, Juneau?, Kenai?, APU?)

8. Website - The ADGA will continue to use the social networking site Disc Golf Scene as a discussion board and to post information on tournaments, leagues, club announcements, and other info. Brian can now add staff members to the club page. The ADGA will also maintain the current website. Does this site need to be updated? Do we need a designated website person for the club?

9. Hilltop Update (Rick) - We would like to renew our equipment lease agreement with Hilltop for 2014.

10. Alaska Disc Golf Championships Update – (Thad) - The 2014 AKDGC will be a three-day PDGA sanctioned B-tier event held at Kincaid Park in Anchorage. Thad will be the Head Tournament Director and Brian/Louie and Kurtis will be assistant TDs. We will need to organize a volunteer effort to prepare the course for the tournament and to help on tourney day. Sanctioning is already in place, we still need to obtain permits, get artwork, order discs and other swag, recruit sponsors, rent chalet/picnic area?, finalize schedule (field events, player’s party, award ceremony, elections).

11. Fundraising/Tournament Merchandise – The ADGA will again be supporting tournaments by purchasing discs, permits, and other tournament supplies. The club will be reimbursed fully at the completion of the tournament. Should the ADGA also be selling discs and other equipment to raise money? Do we need to order more Club Discs?

12. Bylaws – The organization’s bylaws are not consistent with our Articles of Incorporation and do not reflect the current operations of the ADGA. We will be working to update and improve our bylaws in 2014.

13. Elections – There are currently two vacant board positions (secretary and Tournament/Course Maint. Coordinator). We will be having a special election to fill these two positions. We will be having full elections for all board positions during the state tournament in 2014. The Position of PDGA State Coordinator for Alaska is also up for election in 2014.

Shay Stewart   January 3, 2014 at 4:21pm

Hey Edan, when we spoke on the phone you specifically said that you were going to hold a special elections at the jan 7th meeting. I didn't see that on the agenda. Also, I think an main issue everyone would like to discuss is the future direction of the ADGA (is it going to continue to serve th ... more

Shay Stewart   January 3, 2014 at 4:24pm

Oops didn't read the whole thing I guess. I hate doing this on my phone. See you tues!

Thad Murgatroyd   January 3, 2014 at 11:43pm

Hate to burst your bubble but that is your personal agenda because as of Jan 1st you, kurtis and any other SELF APPOINTED board members tenure is over . I dont know where you think your head of the ADGA but your sadly very wrong and to make all these decisision on our area courses you want to make i ... more

James Beckner   January 4, 2014 at 1:12am

I hope this meeting incorporates the 2014 board of the adga. I would atleast like to have my vote on each position

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 1:34am

I call absolute bs. There are 5 vacant positions. The entire board is up for re election. And no our by laws aren't changed yet. Get real

Thad Murgatroyd   January 4, 2014 at 2:04am

Jame the 2014 Board hasnt been elected and in all legal sense neither was a 2013 . Edan and Kurtis are Self Appointed so I really dont know why they feel compelled to continue to make ddcis

Thad Murgatroyd   January 4, 2014 at 2:10am

Decisions concerning Anchorage and our tournament schedule . I feel they will continue to try and manipulate our club here and I feel its time we establish fair borders once a legal board has been elected . I would like to figure out how people who dont live here want to crowd a already overcrowded ... more

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 2:48am

There are currently 5 vacant positions. No one voted a new board in. Accept it already. To quote our forefathers NO TAXATIOn W OUT REPRESENTATION

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 2:55am

You won't run me out of an association I wholeheartedly support weekly and annually. Why is it I feel I have to defend myself for wanting adga to stay local as that is what it was created for. If it wasn't and it's been statewide why were all of the other associations created and why ... more

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 2:58am

Please show up and plan to stay late as I want this to be ironed out and an open dialogue established. If the adga goes "statewide" you can wholeheartedly expect my withdrawal and the withdrawal of those I encourage to play and contribute to the sport. I bring rec players in, I recruit new ... more

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 3:02am

Exactly when and how did the "officers" come to be? No one wanted the position? It was available as interim? Ok that time is over we would like to vote a new board.

Dale Williams   January 4, 2014 at 3:16am

I thought the club meeting was for January 28th for the board elections. Is that still going to happen? I haven't been on the scene for a bit...but Gutz said that in the prior post

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 3:17am

How did we file fraudulent non profit renewal? The board was not elected and it is not In compliance w our by laws. Our mission currently is to promote disc golf within the anchorage area.

Dale Williams   January 4, 2014 at 3:17am

I would like to vote = )

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 3:26am

Great now we have to pay another 25$ to notify the state of a change in elected officials. Awesome.

Dale Williams   January 4, 2014 at 3:33am

From reading Gutz's post...all the positions were up for election and that was to take place on January 28th. Did I miss something? I would like to vote this year.

josh stewart   January 4, 2014 at 4:42am

^^^ they are up for election. Let no one tell you otherwise

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 3:20am

Just to point out the obvious. It appears that the ADGA bylaws can only be changed by its members not the board. And as for what is to be done with this entity, it is up to the members and not the board. I can understand that Thad and the other Homer people are saying, but it is ultimately up to t ... more

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 3:22am

Anchorage and from what I have heard, there was an election that wasn't held in Anchorage and a lot of the ADGA members were not notified, I think the first agenda item should be to hold elections. Edan and Kurtis and the Homer people may win their positions anyway, but an election process wasn't formally followed.

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 3:24am

I thought Brian started the formal election process. Nominations to be accepted and votes will be taken. If there was elections, who all voted? Who was all notified? Where are the minutes?

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 1:17pm

More seems that the ADGA was and still is an Anchorage Club/Association. It seems that the Homer members that support the ADGA don't support its organizations bylaws as they currently stand. I feel they need to tell the Anchorage members that they want to openly change the Anch ... more

Thad Gunther   January 5, 2014 at 3:34pm

Personal attacks on this forum MUST STOP. I want to say thank you for those members that have kept the ADGA alive and thriving through countless volunteer hours over the last few years.

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 6:08pm

Personal attacks. I am not attacking Edan, Kurtis or you. We are all apart of this great favorit sport at that. I really appreciate what Edan and Kurtis have done and still do today. I have an opion like you and them. The ADGA might change for the better who knows. If they get what the ... more

Thad Gunther   January 5, 2014 at 6:57pm

It will be great to get this all sorted out so that we as a club can move past all this "talk" and have more action

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 7:32pm

I do like what Edan, Kurtis and what you envision for the ADGA. I think that maybe the ADGA and the Fairbanks and Matsu can assist in forming a new umbrella organization financially to get it up and running and these current organzation can pick or vote for who they would like to be on the unbrella ... more

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 7:35pm

This can be the time for some change and it seems that Edan and Kurtis have some great ideas!

Thad Gunther   January 5, 2014 at 8:09pm

We are all in agreement of what needs to happen. It is just how it is going to happen is the discussion/vote that needs to take place.

Dale Williams   January 5, 2014 at 8:35pm

Agreed. In the past, correct me if I am wrong. But the Anchorage club the ADGA build the first premier disc golf course, Kincaid with concrete tees with its resources and the ADGA since then hosted the state tournament on the course they built, it makes sense why the ADGA hosted it...they built i ... more

Thad Murgatroyd   January 6, 2014 at 1:22pm

I take issue with people who dont live in Anchorage wanting us to do all of the work on courses when their own courses are a mess . I think you need to make the Pretzel a decent organized course.i'm sorry Thad but I am not known for blowing sunshine up peoples asses I state my honest opinion ,w ... more

Thad Murgatroyd   January 6, 2014 at 1:28pm

Thad if Homer was interested in growing DG in AK why did Kurtis and Eden ignore Hilltop last yr . Its the 1 ranked course in the state with the best facilties and it was ignored. It was pettiness and a personal snub of me and Rick and a belated FU to John L to make the hard work up there try and go away

Thad Murgatroyd   January 6, 2014 at 1:31pm

I agree the ADGA needs to be Anchorage only , run by ANCHORAGE only . We will schedule with the rest of the state
