So this year in addition to the Free Michigan Statewide Disc Golf League Point Series DGLA offered a new option for those who wanted to have a little skin in the game, who wanted to show their participation with a Disc Golf League Association Players Member package - Putter and Glow mini, while helping to raise money for a Michigan Disc Golf Course Improvement Grant, tat they get to vote on how it is used, also secured their DGLA life time membership number, all to show their support for those who believe that we as players can help grow and improve this great sport and leagues in Michigan and beyond. So we are excited that many of you decided to join:

For 2013 if you join before the Winter Season you are eligible for awards in both the Winter and Summer seasons for the same fee - just $30.00 - More on that soon....
So with 23 Player and 1 Contributing member DGLA was able to do a few more things this year. Purchase berths as awards, offer payout based on standings against the other Player members, Create the Mi Disc Golf Course improvement fund which members direct and continue to look at how we can helps new and existing leagues and offer more to the players and clubs that make this all happen. And as from the very beginning we are working closely with the Disc Golf Scene to facilitate some of these improvements and new features. Thanks Pete for all your efforts to give us such a great place to meet and find information and collect stats and run tournaments and especially leagues so much easier - You Rock!
Ok although the $30 went to purchase the players packages, fund the Mi Course improvement grant fund ($120.00 based on $5 per Player Member), MDGO Berth purchase, we have some money for payout to the Player Members ($345 based on $15 per player member). With the help of the ThrowShop we are able to offer our Player Members more than just a few Discs that we had purchased and carting around in our trunk but almost any disc, any bag, hats, shirts, patches, snacks and baskets - yes the ThrowShop has almost anything disc Golf related and all the stuff to make your round more enjoyable and our Player Members are awarded ThrowShop bucks. Just contact the Throwshop - they have the DGLA Player member list with payout amount. If your not in the area to drop in and shop then contact Ben Calhoun or the ThrowShop to use your payout and we look forward to seeing you at a Michigan League real soon.
