~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MiCPS – Summer 2012 Highlighted Leagues of the Week (HLW) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well get out your DG planners to ensure you get as many of these double point rounds in and have the opportunity to play some of the best courses in the country during some of the best Disc Golf league rounds run anywhere in the universe. Who knows DGLA may even have a prize for the player who plays the most MiCPS-Summer 2012 HLW rounds....

Note there are at least three leagues that don’t have all their rounds yet scheduled so I was unable to update the MiCPS schedule for them so watch for some updates.

The MiCPS Double points kick off a week from this Saturday, starting on the Michigan southern boarder at Vienna Park , Temperance, Michigan at 1:00 - Saturday Vienna Dubs. There are several HLW each week and we will again highlight these leagues before the week begins. This is a great opportunity to get out and play rounds all over the state. And in the July heat what better place to be than in the UP playing some Disc Golf. Friday, July 27, 2012 5:30pm DISC da UP Summer @ Silver Creek - Harvey, Michigan.

Besides the MDGO Sponsored: Discraft - MI State Disc Golf Championship 2012 ( http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/The_Discraft_Michigan_State_Championship_2012) berths that will be awarded by DGLA for performance during the MiCPS there are several leagues who have State Championship Berths up for grabs as well - case in point:

Come out to Sanford Lake as the Highlighted League of the Week on Monday, June 4th and do your first or second league night to qualify for a chance at a State Berth package! On Friday, June 14, we'll have at least 4 berths for the best scores of 20 players (great odds!) who have played TWO Monday nights and pre-registered. The scores will be based on two rounds played at Sanford Lake sometime Friday, June 14. Yes, you can come out anytime that day to do your rounds, as long as we have staff or players to go around with you. $10 gets you in on it, plus a savory dinner if you're there between 4pm and 6pm. Check out the "Sanford Lake BERTH-day Celebration" tournament and the "Tame the Jungle" league linked to the Sanford Lake course under "Events" for all the details.

Or just come out Monday, June 4th to check out a great fun course and enjoy double points and a nice laid back league night. Btw, our ace pool is FREE to get in!"

Now every league is special and some of you players are "extra special" and we are fortunate to have some extra special leagues that are dedicated to growing the sport by providing a league environment that fosters growth in a well defined community - Such leagues can be age protected such as Youth leagues, which we hope to see grow in the future but also by gender and thrugh the vision and dedication of a few we have a Ladies only league ( and I hear a few more next year) - so as was the statement last year - please no cross dressers to try and get double points ;-) but do help get the word out to all the ladies about this league and event to help introduce more women to the sport: Sunday, June 17, 2012 1:00pm Ladies of Climax, MI Cold Brook Park

All great things have to wrap up so we can crown a champion and get ready for the next season. So the last day of the MiCPS – Summer 2012 is Saturday July 28th. The last HLW for the season will be on that very day to help celebrate another great summer season of Mi Disc Golf Leagues: Saturday, July 28, 2012 12:00pm 101 Summer Dubs Hudson Mills Metropark

A week later we will lock down the MiCPS leaderboards and crown the Mi State Disc Golf Summer League Champion and announce all the DGLA Player members’ awards from the MiCPS - Summer.
