I agree with Darren.
LEDs look cooler in the air, can be easily found year around unlike glow plastic that disappears in the snow, and discs with LEDs affixed can double as basket illuminators. LEDs are far cheaper than glow discs, not everyone has $50-100 to drop on a nice group of glow discs and why should I buy more discs when I have plenty of extras to which I can tape an LED.
As for the modern glow disc, my brand new glo nuke was totally discharged by the time I got to it which is pathetic. The same is true for my older glow discs, they don't hold a charge for more than a 10-20 seconds.
I understand the Tradition argument, just don't agree with it and consequently no longer attend.
