Week 17 of the 2026 Deer Lakes League season featured another competitive night as the race for league standings continues to heat up. In the Open division, Chris Lachendro led the way with a strong -7 (59) to earn the victory and $18, finishing ahead of Matt Rosier by two strokes. Jesse Kummer topped the Advanced division with a steady -3 (63) to claim first place, while the Intermediate division ended in a tie as Aaron Garcia and Hank Lilienthal both fired -3 (63) to share the win. In Recreational, Nick Richardson continued his consistent season, taking the division title with a +3 (69).
The birdie pot continues to be one of the biggest storylines of the season. For the fifth consecutive week, a player successfully completed the required birdies, but because they hadn't paid into the pot, the payout once again went unclaimed. With the jackpot continuing to grow week after week, it's becoming one of the most anticipated prizes in the league. Chris Lachendro capped off his winning night by parking his second shot on Hole #13 to claim the CTP and an extra $10.
No aces were hit this week, but with another strong field of winners, a birdie pot that keeps getting larger, and plenty of league points still up for grabs, Week 17 added another exciting chapter to the 2026 Deer Lakes League season.
