Chapter Four: The Ircenrraat at Alcantra
“You saw where it landed... didn't you?”
The Valley returned to Alcantra this week, home to fairways players know by heart.
Or so they thought.
According to Inuit legend, the Ircenrraat—the Little People—love confusion. They move tools, hide equipment, and lead travelers astray. They're never seen directly, only through the chaos they leave behind.
After this week's scores?
Nobody can convince me they weren't out there.
Perfect drives suddenly found trees.
Great upshots rolled fifty feet farther than they should.
Birdie putts somehow became pars.
And a few players seemed to have the Little People helping them instead of hurting them.
???? A Tier — Aaron Finds the Hidden Path
While everyone else fought the tricks of the Ircenrraat, Aaron Merideth seemed to have made a deal with them.
A scorching -11 led the field and left the rest of A-tier chasing footprints.
Following closely:
Isaiah Gall — -9, continuing his incredible Valley of Beasts run.
Kelly Allen — -8
Patrick Phelps — -8
Thomas Voight — -8
Morgan Leeds — -8
Five players tied at -8 or better. The battle at the top is becoming absolutely ruthless.
Meanwhile:
Jake Ratliff — -4
Mason Minturn — -4
Both survived the mischief, but not without a few stolen strokes along the way.
⚔️ B Tier — Foley Finds the Little People's Treasure
The Ircenrraat may have been helping Christopher Foley this week.
A strong -8 earned the B-tier victory and tied several of the A-tier contenders.
Close behind:
Alex Strawn — -7
Andrew Bozone — -7
Scott Bowen — -5
Jeremy Ratliff — -5
Aaron Richardson — -4
Then there was:
Wayne Danjin — +5
If anyone saw tiny footprints around Wayne's discs, now would be the time to mention it.
???? C Tier — Resisting the Mischief
The Little People were busy in C-tier as well.
Kevin Vacca — -1, becoming the only C-tier player to beat the course this week.
Ettore Fistarol — +1
Wilson Jennings — +3
Kevin continues to improve every week, and after his first sanctioned event only a few weeks ago, the progress is becoming impossible to ignore.
❄️ D Tier — The Survivors of Alcantra
Jax Ratliff — +1, continuing a very strong Valley of Beasts campaign.
Rheannon Fabrello — +5, once again showing up and battling through another week.
The Little People may have caused trouble, but they couldn't keep these two from finishing their rounds.
Week 5 Preview — The Keelut
Next week the hunt moves to Peters Creek, deep in the forests of Chugiak.
Waiting there is the Keelut—the ghost dog of Inuit legend, known for its backward feet and its ability to lead travelers astray.
In the woods of Peters Creek, one bad kick can send a disc deep into the trees. One missed line can leave you searching longer than you'd like.
You may think you're following your disc...
Only to discover you've been tracking the wrong trail all along.
Five weeks remain.
The Keelut is waiting. ????????️⛓️
