Another problem with points per players beat is that it discourages the really new players or friends, wives, girlfriends from coming along to a league. I've seen it in small leagues even where these noobs are treated just as extra points for the other players. However you can't handicap a first time player either. A major flaw with handicap is lack of data. That's why it would be great if we could pull scores from other database and websites. And maybe use some PDGA ratings and data to prepopulate a handicap system.
