I agree with you that a handicap league has a huge and relatively untapped potential for growth. The most consistent gripe we hear about the point series is that the good players always win, and the mid-level player in a mid-size league has no chance.
The first sentence of the mission statement of DGLA:
"The Disc Golf League Association (DGLA) is an organization that promotes disc golf by supporting: disc golf leagues for all levels of players, course creation and improvements, and the growth of local clubs and leagues."
Growth is key for us, and if giving that mid-level or beginner player in a regular sized league the ability to compete on even footing with the best players in Michigan promotes more players playing leagues then we are all for it!
We have the infrastructure (DGS/Pete Crist), organization (DGLA), and competition (MICPS) in place. Now it's on us to add the handicap system.
