Weather Update – Kentucky Disc Golf Trail (Bowling Green, KY – March 7, 2026)
We hope everyone is doing well. As we approach the first stop of the Kentucky Disc Golf Trail in Bowling Green, KY on March 7, 2026, we are now about 48 hours out, and the current forecast is calling for:
Scattered thunderstorms in the morning, becoming mainly cloudy in the afternoon with thunderstorms likely. Storms may contain strong gusty winds. High near 71°F. Winds SW at 10–20 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
We understand that weather like this can make players concerned about whether the tournament will take place. Please know that player safety is always the first and foremost priority for Strong Side Disc Golf.
Our organization was built from a player’s perspective, so we understand what it is like to deal with weather delays and lightning during events. While canceling or rescheduling a tournament is possible, it is also very difficult logistically. It requires coordinating with City Parks & Recreation, securing new course reservations, and covering additional park usage fees. We are not against making those changes if necessary, but we will always try to avoid canceling unless safety concerns make it absolutely necessary.
Our experienced staff will be monitoring conditions closely throughout the event. We use modern lightning detection tools and will notify players immediately if play needs to be delayed or suspended.
We are also fully aware of and will follow PDGA Rule 1.07 – Suspension of Play if weather conditions require it.
We will continue to monitor the forecast and provide updates as needed. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to seeing everyone in Bowling Green.
