With you there, Kevin. Unfortunately, the weekends around that have city-wide events that would make hosting the tournament more challenging. We also have to contend with Easter and Mother’s Day. There’s also all the spring rain and cold we try to get as far away from. Derby has always been a slow weekend for restaurants/hotels since so many enjoy derby at home or at parties so disc golfers can get a red carpet so to speak.

As far as I know last year was the first year this tournament was on derby weekend. It's always been in April. Thanks for getting back with me. I hate missing the tournament it's always been my favorite one.

@ Kevin Howard, we submitted 3 other dates to the PDGA and we were only given Derby weekend. We will continue to ask for other dates moving forward, but ultimately PDGA determines our approved weekend.
