Week 7 was classico crispy at the Goon. We had 11 players turn up with a solid showing by C Poolers (5 players) compared to more modest A and B fields (3 players each).
Scott kept his hot streak going, throwing a stellar bogey-free -10 (unofficially 1000 rated). Killian was his closest competition and finished -6 (948 rated) with 8 birdies. These boys took all the cash for A Pool.
Naz and Chris had a shootout for 1st place in B Pool with Naz edging out the W to finish at -4 (921 rated) compared to Chris's -3 (908 rated). Chris had 2 more birdies than Naz but threw in a wretched triple bogey on hole 15 (elevated basket for hole 6). I think this is the worst casualty that the elevated basket has caused so far this season.
In C Pool, Jeremy and Eli had a battle which Jeremy narrowly eeked out. Jeremy's steady play ended up as the deciding factor despite Eli carding one more birdie than Jeremy. They finished at +5 (Jeremy) and +6 (Eli).
Hole performance shoutouts:
Scott took the only bird on hole 4 which played +0.56 over par
Killian stole the lone birds on holes 10 and 13 which averaged +0.33 and +0.22 over par
Naz nabbed the only bird on hole 13 which averaged +0.22 over par
Chris notched the lone bird on hole 14 which averaged +0.11 over par
STANDINGS Update:
Now that we have 7 weeks of league on the books, here's where things stand in terms of the overall season title... A reminder that we take the top 7 rounds in terms of points earned for each player and sum them. You earn 1 point for each player that you beat or tie in a given week. Podium finishers earn a commemorative mini to flex about their achievement.
