14 souls braved Davis for Week 2. Lord knows how many discs they left out on the course. I left after kicking things off so I can't say what transpired, but I know from tracking scores that it was a bit of a slog.
We were graced by Beckner who blitzed the course in spite of the conditions. He carded 9 birdies and 1 bogey to finish -8 (unofficially 1013 rated) for 1st overall and the A Pool win. On his heels was John DelReal who also carded a bunch of birdies and only 1 bogey to finish -4 (970 rated) and round out the A Pool cash.
Mr. Moon followed a similar game plan, playing clean with only one bogey and 4 birdies (-3, 960 rated) to best his B Pool competitors and take the top cash prize of the day. Loren also stayed in the red, carding a solid -1 (with a whopping 5 birdies!) to earn enough to buy a half gallon of gas after subtracting his entry fee. Rounding out the B Pool cash was newcomer Britton who finished +2.
Jeremy kept his winning streak alive but shared the 1st place honors for C Pool with newcomer Matthew. They finished +11.
Big thanks and props go out to all the league attendees who made it out to league this week in spite of the conditions. Especially Scott and Lyla who we rarely get to see at league in Anchorage, as well as the aforementioned newcomers Britton and Matthew. When yall come out to league in spite of the weather, it keeps Dan and I motivated to keep running this league, so thanks!
Baring a massive warm up/melt event this week, we'll be playing Westchester Lagoon next week. I'll post later this week with the official word. Stay warm until then!
