Mass email that was just sent:
Good evening everyone,
As I was hoping to have everything out and not having to send another “update”, However that is not the case and this will serve as the final update.
Starting off with payouts, I will make this short, and simple. All payouts will be out in full by Monday Morning. When PayPal started releasing things per transaction, 2-4 times per day at the last update, I fully expected this to be done completely by this point. However, Last week they slowed down to 1-2 Per day released. As of the time of this email, we are at 41 out of the 49 total transactions (44 Competing teams, 5 teams that did not play). Those who have reached out to me and asked, were met with this information as well. I have tried to be upfront regarding everything, and yes, I may have been slower on the “mass updates”, but I have done my best to answer everyone, including discussing this in person with some of you, fielding phone calls, etc. I do my best to respond to all who have messaged me for updates, and some I may have either missed an email, or a comment and I apologize. I try to answer all, while still dealing with the normal busyness of life that we all face daily. To answer some that have asked, there are only a couple remaining refunds (Which are showing as pending on PayPal), aside from that scrip & MPO/COED payments will start going out this weekend, with everything out by Monday.
Regarding trophies, I misunderstood the trophy provider and thought they would’ve been shipped during the last mass update; however it was not until this last week that it happened. I originally planned to cover the trophy costs out of my own pocket, instead of from the releasing transactions/tournament funds, but I was unable to cover it myself. This was also a part of the delay for them getting out. On 10/28 I sent him $500 of the releasing/tournament funds to at least get them shipped and will send the remaining 500 once everyone is paid out this weekend and the remaining transactions release. The cost of trophies was $1,000 flat, with $900 of it coming from tournament funds (roughly just under $20 per team going towards trophies). The remaining $100 will be covered by myself. As well as any shipping costs to get trophies out to players, will be covered by myself as well.
The ace pot that was thrown off for, and paid out at the event, was from my pocket as well (since PayPal locked everything up post event including ace pot entries), and I will recoup that once everyone is paid out when the remaining transactions release. As well as all PayPal fees during sign ups, and post event PayPal fees (sending refunds, COED/MPO payments).
I have heard and seen of an email threatening legal action against myself, claiming that I have stolen the funds, when that is not the case at all. I fully understand the frustration due to all of this, and I am not disregarding anyone’s frustration as it is rightfully so. I did not plan to have any of this whole PayPal mess occur, as I wanted it to be done and completed upon the conclusion of the final round. However, I understand the thought process of wanting to start legal action at this point, as for myself, I would want the same if I played an event and this was the result. Which is why I will not shoot down any of the talks of this, I will instead inform everyone with this update email, and prove to those who are thinking this way wrong. Some have said that they know how PayPal works, and that this is not correct at all, however they have not been in on the hours of phone calls I have had with PayPal trying to solve this problem. I have seen other events have similar issues to this, but not quite to this extent/duration. Because of that, I fully understand the frustrations, and rumors that have been brought forth.
I have been apart of this community that I consider family for almost 15 years now, donating many hours of time, many funds from my own pocket, and more to this bad ass community we have formed. It truly hurts to hear from those who do not fully know me or my past in this community, assume that I am out to steal, or scam, or however you want to label it. I have already mentioned it in past updates, but I will be stepping down and handing this event off once everything is finalized. There are some great names in the hat already. I will also be stepping away from disc golf for a while in general, which is hard considering my passion for the sport & community, but after recent comments by some, I have lost that passion to even play recently. It has all left a sour taste for me, but none-the-less I will get this all finalized for everyone and step away for a short period.
If anyone has any questions regarding this email, please feel free to ask away, I’m not hiding anything and am happy to address anything I may have missed. I have included everyone in this email, including teams who did not place, to be completely transparent with the update and information going out.

October 15th "as of this morning PayPal had released 24 transactions."
November 1st "PayPal started slowing down transactions last week" (that would be October 21st at the earliest)
If 24 transactions were released between the morning of the 7th and the morning of the 15th and transactions didn't slow until the 21st, then 21 more transactions would have released
between the morning of the 15th and the morning of the 21st. 1 a day from there would have put you at 49 transactions on October 24th. Simple math, and math doesn't lie. This update is completely dishonest
Is to say you accidentally sent money to the wrong PayPal account. The following step would be to say you tried working with PayPal to return the money but can’t now and it’s gone. All the while never show the PayPal balance of where it went to. But I would absolutely love to be proved wrong in this.
