Greetings All,
For starters - thanks for signing up for this event! The 2008 Ace Race was the first event I ever played in Disc Golf - so it has a special place in my heart - and I was excited to learn that Discraft was bringing it back for 2024.
A few small updates:
1. Players packs will be available for pickup day-of @ the Creekside Pavillion... but they will ALSO be available for pickup TOMORROW and FRIDAY from 10am-7pm at Another Round Salt Lake City. We're located at 6092 S 900 E, Murray, UT 84121.
2. The layout will be all aceable positions. We will be playing all 18 holes at Creekside, with some "temp" pads set up on holes where acing from the tee-pad is ... improbable. The goal of this event is simply to hit aces - so expect some fun, creative shots... but short ones! I'll send out a caddy book on Friday - I want this event to be mostly a "surprise" in terms of layout to give everybody an equal shot.
3. There will be 2 rounds - and timing for round 2 will be dependent on when we all finish round 1! We'll take a quick break to grab food (if needed) and then head out for a second round!
4. This will be a "choose your own card" event and we will use paper scorecards. 5 tops will be just fine as this is a "throw and go" event. Scoring will be as follows: Aces = 25, Chain Hits = 10, Metal (not chains) hits = 5, misses = 0, but taking a CTP = 2. So... the HIGHER your score, the better!
5. There will be CTP's on every hole!
6. The winner will be the person who hits the most aces! If there is a tie - we will use the "score" as the tiebreaker.
Can't wait for this - should be loads of fun!
Cheers,
Ben
