Hi all. Quick update. You can see the preliminary map of the course under pictures now. I will have more details descriptions of the holes soon. And maybe some pictures of some holes too after we do some landscaping.
I also wanted to add some info for some of our players that are a bit newer and still figuring out which division to play. There are the PDGA guidelines, but those are written with US players in mind - more experience. In Alberta here, we have to adjust our groupings a bit so here is what it says on the Battle registration page (regarding non-age protected division):
For those who are unsure which division to enter, here are some guidelines to help you out:
MPO - Any rating, but we recommend focusing on players over 920-930ish.
FPO: Any rating, but we recommend focusing on players over 850-860ish.
MA1 - 900 or above
MA2 - 899 and below
MA3 - Newcomers or casual players
FA1 - 751 and above
FA2 - 750 and below
FA3 - Newcomers or casual players
Take all this with a grain of salt. Play where you feel comfortable or course. But my goal is for the highest level of parity and a good competitive division will have that.
