There was a refund policy that you agreed to when signing up. Plus here hasn't been a wait list for about a month. Not sure what you're trying to get at here, but these events cost a lot upfront to organize and order materials. Last minute dropouts would cost everyone playing and running the event. I can understand the confusion if your new pdga events, but that's just how it is, nothing new or unprecedented has happened in the lead up to this event.

I'll add, the PDGA and TDs of the PDGA have a very generous refund policy. If you've played a professionally organized even amateur sanctioned event in almost any other sport, you forefit all of your entry fee unless your withdrawal is months ahead of time.
