Hello all 2024 LVC presented by Innova Players!
In about three weeks, starting Sunday, May 5th, after 1 PM, Wildhorse Golf Club is shut down for the 2024 Las Vegas Challenge presented by Innova Champion Discs – our 25th Anniversary event! Although we try as hard as we can to provide as many updates as needed via our website (www.lvcdg.com), the Disc Golf Scene registration pages, and the LVC Facebook social media page (https://www.facebook.com/lvcdg), we are sure a few slip through the cracks.
A few updates provided below:
1) Player & Caddie Dress Code - Is that required for PDGA Majors, and a PDGA waiver has been approved since this is a requirement for Wildhorse - All players (and their assigned caddie) must wear an upper garment covering their upper chest area and lower torso. A well-tailored shirt with a collar is acceptable, with or without sleeves. A well-tailored one-piece tennis dress with minimum one-inch-wide shoulder straps is also acceptable. Tank tops are not allowed. Crew neck or v-neck shirts made of high-performance or high-tech materials, such as Dry-Fit, Cool-Max, and others allowed. Shirts that hang down lower than the bottom hemline on the player’s shorts shall be tucked in. No ripped shirts, shorts, or pants will be allowed on the course, including unhemmed, torn or cut “vents” at the shirt collar. No offensive, profane, or obscene slogans or logos shall be allowed on any clothing.
2) Caddie Bibs, Caddie Quantities, and Spectators – Is that required for PDGA Majors, and a PDGA waiver has been approved - All players will receive a LVC caddie bib as part of their player’s package. When providing caddie services, caddies must wear their bib on the course. All other individuals are considered and treated as spectators and MUST ACQUIRE a Spectator Pass to access the property. Spectator passes can be purchased at https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/2024_Las_Vegas_Challenge_presented_by_Innova_Spe4ctator_Tickets . Only the player’s caddie may walk with the group and in the playing area. All others MUST remain within the designated Spectator Areas unless directed otherwise by crowd control staff.
3) Marshals – All LVC marshals will likely be wearing yellow LVC hats. For groups that allow players to clearly take excessive time (see 802.03), the PLAYER shall receive a warning for the first violation and a one-throw penalty thereafter during the same round. Additionally, the OTHER MEMBERS OF THE GROUP will also receive a warning for permitting undue delay and not enforcing the rules (3.02(D)).
4) Time Times - Anticipated to be posted Sunday evening, May 5th, by 5 PM PST.
5) Pre-Event Practice Play - Wildhorse will be very busy with ball golf play BEFORE May 6th. DO NOT expect to just show up prior May 6th and be able to play disc golf. Wildhorse has added a May the Fourth be with You event on May 4th. Please call their Pro Shop up to three days in advance to reserve LIMITED disc golf tee times for play BEFORE 5/6 or up to 2 weeks for the May 4th special event. (Call 702-434-9000, ext. 1.)
